As long as it takes. I heard that the game is planned to be 1.5 years in EA. They have plenty of time to include controller support.

The Dev stated he is hoping to have it very shortly after EA release. So give it about a Month max.(could be sooner or later)
He tried to get it for release but apparently with all the menus Chef RPG has, it was a lot harder to get done.

+1 for controller support.

tbh, I was expecting it from day 1. There’s a massive handheld Steam Deck community, as well as people that require controller support (including those that have accessibility issues) so it would be great to see controller support as soon as possible. Until then, Chef RPG will just have to wait on my Wishlist…

Yes, controller support is a dealbreaker for me personally due to accessibility issues. Been looking forward to this game for so long but I will have to hold off still it seems. Happy to hear it's at least being worked on and hope it will be implemented soon.

Same here, unless maybe customize controls on steam deck. But that only usually works on games that have at least partial controller support.

I have to admit it always disappoints me when cozy games like this don't release with controller/Deck support. The whole genre is meant to be relaxing, yet challenging, and a lot of people want to huddle up in bed playing them.
Can the controls be remapped to at least make it playable on controller? I hate fiddling with keymapping, but I have had to get used to doing it for a lot of games I play on my Deck.

From what I read, it's because there's too many buttons on the UI to fit on a controller so the dev's having some problems with controller support.

Too many buttons? That sounds weird for a game like this. I get that controllers have a slightly more limited set of buttons, but the Deck has 4 spare buttons built into the back.
