Dead game? - Update --> Yes

Update: 12.03.2025 - The Devs's discord is gone

So, 3 months since release, no major update.
2 month since the last (minor) update.
No communication from the devs (as far as I can see in Discussions, Kickstarter, blogs or anything)

Given the devs....history, anyone else gets the feeling this game might have been abandoned or put on the backburner?

Don't get me wrong, I would WANT this game to succeed, since i find the concept absolute amazing, but with how much of a trainwreck the launch was (and no don't blame the players for it, they released a mediocre DEMO for a full price., thats not how early access works), i would put it beyond the devs to cut their losses.

what i canot understand is why they dont ahve released a skirmish mode with a basic AI.
for who know how total annihilation AI worked its not qa big chalenge especially if the made a planetary annihilation AI before.
even if it was a lame ai super stupid it had some interest .

They didn't release the game thinking people would love it. They released early it knowing they would "take a hit" it was released because we (most vocal backers in the Ia discord) wanted in, and they wanted us in.

I think the main reason for getting it out on steam early was that Pa was quite heavily criticized for gating alpha and beta access behind a higher cost to entry.

This time around everyone get's access at the same time and with a 25% discount for helping bring the game to life.

I think skirmish Ai has been bumped up the road map due to popular request [speculation] Pa's Ai and chronocam technology is quite a complex beast (at least as I understand it).

It's likely if this is what they are working on that it will take some time.

obivously coding an ai is specialised and i doubt the main team have this skill and call for external worker.
but just queueing orders out of factory can already make the trick for a basic skirmish.
builder will not adapt and will atempt to complete the same task whatever as fighter will just patrol :
and this not requiert any skill to implement.

There is already a scripted Ai in the assult mission. A scripted Ai is not fun to play against for more than a few matches though and would need to be re made for each map.

Imho much better to focus on getting a proper Ai out for the real gamers. ; )

exact they have just to extend the script of it.
i noticed once they had build their 2 miner around their main base they stop forever to expend and just send patrol to our spawn.
yes a scripted AI if we can call it so is not fun but its exactllly what every campagn of all rts propose and its just not replayable but enought for make a entraining tutorial and a decent tech demo.

Apparently the discord server is still on but ''because they lost a boost'' the invite is no longer working :)
