As for happy endings, especially for the gays in the game, this definitely has a lot more feelgood happy endings for characters than the game you mentioned lmao. That game has a reputation for "came for the yuri, got baited into survival horror" i would probably say this is closer to "came for the survival horror, got baited into the yuri"
This game is far more about psychological horror and a general dread as to whether you're doing things right, what ramifications your action or inaction might have. For me, it nailed the anxiety of a breaking (or broken) relationship and not knowing what you could've done to mend it.
Hopefully this helped! If you want to be here for getting anxious over queer couples and hoping everything turns out right, its a good game for it!
