Game hangs on opening loading screen

The game was running fine for me, until I closed the game using alt-f4 due to accidentally hitting the new game option and not wanting to watch the opening cutscene. Since then the game will play the opening screens(Unity, a la mode, etc) and then will hang on the loading screen before the main menu.

I've tried verifying files and uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but neither of those have helped.

Anyone else experienced this and figured it out?

It's not something I've had reported before but I'm wondering if the alt-f4 happened when the game might have been saving some data.

Could you try the following:

1. Nagivate to "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\a la mode games\Sorry We're Closed" to view the games save data
   
2. Delete the "Settings.es3" file
   
3. Delete the "SystemData.es3" file
   
4. Open the game and see if it loads to the main menu

So long as you only delete those two files you won't lose any progress, but you would need to reapply any settings or controller adjustments you have made.

If this doesn't help please let me know and I will have another think about what could be causing this.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the quick response! Unfortunately that did not seem to fix the issue. I did manage to install it on my steamdeck instead and it works fine there so I should be able to finish it even if it's less than ideal.

So if you have any other ideas I can try that would be great but hopefully don't stress about it too much :)
