Low Agency Movement System
While a lot around this looks and feels great, my one piece of feedback is just that I'd rather have a jump button than not. I understand what it's trying to go for, but it just doesn't feel good to me to have the core verb of a movement-based game that literally has jumping be taken away from me as a player and dictated by the level design. Even snowboarding and skateboarding games have a jump button, games where jumping does very little if you don't time it properly to the apex of a ramp or slope.

This felt the worst once I got to one of the Skull levels and preceded to die three times in a row just trying to wrap my head around how to use the level design to jump over hazards that were moving in arbitrary patterns that had no direct visual relationship with what I could easily see in front of me at any given time. Dying to a moving AoE in a platformer because I can't press the jump button to get over it but have to conveniently be at the top of a slope at exactly the right time for a jump to actually take place just doesn't feel good at all.

I agree to an extent especially if there are ever any ground hazards, but I don't think it's that simple considering every time you hit the ground you either speed up or slow down depending on the angle.

If it helps, there is an item that's basically a jump button

I adore the lack of a jump button, instead having to identify ramps to use
I feel like a jump button would make the game far too easy. You need to plan ahead and sometimes make a poor landing to ensure you get a good jump to avoid obstacles. This game asks you to plan ahead your route and jumps, rather than just simply react to what pops up in your face. Use your boost more to get higher and larger jumps so you can see what's ahead and identify not just a good spot to land but a good hill to jump off of. And be prepared to bail on that plan by landing sooner, even if it's a rough landing.
i feel like we dont need a jump button but a fonctionnality that does the opposite, where we can stick on the ground and not fly into the air after a hill, like if we hold space while on the ground we don't fly off.

We'd need both. We should stick to the ground by default and only fly off a ramp when we press jump near the edge. There should also be other mechanics and control options because this game gets old and repetitive incredibly fast and the rogue elements, added to artificially make it seem less barebones, only make the game worse.

HI! Thank you for the feedback, we have no plans to add a jump button as it changes the whole game but there are some items in there that let you jump. It seems to be one of those things that people either appreciate or dislike about the game for sure!
