I like the characters, though. They're fun.
My thoughts as well. Imo the sort of ending it went for felt kind of unearned, and depending on how quickly you beat the shards that gets exacerbated further. But the gameplay is definitely more of the focus here so it does its job.
It's what we do irl too.
I'm also a little disappointed that the first time I failed the final level due to time out, that the characters failed to acknowledge it in the slightest. (I did exit the game at that point, perhaps that broke the game so they didn't say what they should have?)
Absolutely. There was something there and they were trying to explore it but gameplay story dissonance was huge and a little glimpse of after the end would have been huge
