Different MC?

Is there any way to get a character to play as who doesn't look so... goofy?
I played the demo and its pretty decent game, especially for the price. Yet, I cannot get over my distaste for the character that is constantly on screen. I would settle for even a mod or something honestly.

I don't have anything against the MC, I like her design. But I have to agree that everything in this game feels like you get to play the different characters you meet. You meet them on your runs, you know and learn that most of them are skilled in one way or another and are clearly able to traverse these shards as well. Heck, you even get "their" abilities at some point. I think it is a very missed opportunity to not unlock them as playable characters. Especially since it just FEELS like you should.
