The patch note says, ride along the Snake body and bonk it's head from top, not side nor front. Pretty much like how you fight Convoy.

Bring the javelin you can get from nilda and hook to the head thaths how i do it
Snake Ver1?
Easy - just needs to learn some strats.

Snake Ver2?
Easy - just needs to learn some strats and git gud.

Snake Ver3?
I don't know what the Dev team took while making the Heat-Seeking missiles, but they should take HALF next time...

The Snake Fight can be cheesed in fight 1 and 2 by bring the Cowl and knowing that right after you hit the head, you need to slowly rotate the stick around to avoid the laser shower from locking all possible paths forwards.

The 3rd fight is absolutely pure luck - cause you need to find Boost items. If you get none, you may as well restart the run when you get to the Snake, cause you simply cannot catch it.
I caught a bug a few times, where you get the Tier 3 Snake on the first fight. I thought I'm going insane and the devs are laughing at me.
I just defeated the Ver 3 Snake and it was Hell.
I had the Item that makes you invincible for a short moment when you get hit & the item that makes you invincible Per spent Energy.

Shielding yourself on command is pretty much the only way to fight that thing.
Never doing Shard 9 ever again - that boss is not fun.
Bosses on Shards 1-8 were pretty much "Challenging but fun". Even the dang Jumper Ver.3 is fun, despite it being a very hard fight.

Snake Ver3 is just annoying.
Mainly because of the dang Missiles. Without them, the fight would be fine.

I'm not playing this game anymore until this fluffing boss is reworked, I never liked Snake, doing it 2 times was already a chore, now I'm on my 6th try of Snake v3, I have been the most overpowered ever and still I'm getting bugged, two-shotted because I'm falling in ice and missiles keep waiting for me. It's so not fun.

I hate that this game has very unregular experience, because the gameplay is so much fun. When I'm in the zone it's amazing, I even began to think that the game was getting easy now that I get it. Shard 9 is still smooth (sometimes unfair but that's procedural levels for you).

But this boss... damn. Devs, here me out: your bosses are what makes people drop the game.

Edit: Thank you so much devs, an update made the boss very much more approachable. This game is such a good experience now, some rough levels due to procedural but nothing unbeatable <3 I finished the game just after the update. It was great !

When I did the fight I had the active item that pulls you through nearby sparks. If you just miss the head you can activate the item to pull you the last bit of distance.

Yeah the missiles seem impossible. Do they ever stop following you? idk what you're supposed to do if you don't have invincibility
I honestly don't think I can give advice on the third Snake fight. I sort of just ran around trying not to die until I accidentally found myself in the right position to attack.
I spend half the damn fight trying to FIND it let alone try and bonk it. I think I spend more time trying to get rid of missiles than actually fighting the boss. Half the fight is finding and being able to keep on top of it. Easily the worst of the bosses.

Correct. Snake 3 is a boost item check mostly.
The item that gives you boost while picking up sparks is pretty much the best one for the fight, if you find more boost items, you pretty much win. Just have to be patient.

as for the heat seeking missiles... you need to get lucky with invulnerability items.
Invuln on close call
Invuln on spark pickup
Invuln active item
all these help.

Invuln on perfect landing isn't bad but its pretty difficult to do well timed perfect landings on this fight to "parry" the missiles because the snake's pathing can be odd and the delayed nuke blackholes gets in the way 90% of the time,
bad boss fight
