Ending Discussion (MAJOR SPOILERS!!!)
I liked the ending well enough, but I thought it was a little anti-climatic. First of all, with the final boss, I wish there was more build-up towards the fight. It doesn't make sense to me that the Birds would take Laika to the spot where both their leader and their grand weapon are, given Laika's reputation as someone who literally can't die. If someone can't die and you trap them in a box with you, eventually they're going to kill you, no matter how strong you are.

Maybe some sort of prison-break could lead up to the fight, where your bike and gun have been taken from you. Of course this is all just musings, as the game isn't in development anymore and creating a whole new ending at this point wouldn't really be possible, which I understand.

I also get that the ending is likely teasing at a sequel, but it would've been nice to get to play as Puppy right at the end. Like maybe she's a bit older and rides to her mother's grave Where Our Ancestors Rest.

Again, all just musings, I really did like the ending for the most part. Would love to hear what others have to say.

lol I guess the final boss probably want to show their power by killing something that could not be killed, but I think you're right, it doesn't make sense especially when the player has the machine gun.
I like the extra ending you said, I would like to know what the new world is like after the bomb. Is it safer? Is it better for Puppy? Also I can see many details in the game indicating they are doing some sort of study, but even I got to the end what research they are working on is still a mystery for me. Maybe I should wait and someone will figure it out.

I agree. It would have been really cool to explore the rest of the floating city. Help Pluck and his rebellion slowly take over the city until eventually both you and Pluck are captured and then the ending played out. It felt a little rushed, similar to how after you learn about Beicoli's involvement in Puppy's kidnapping from Herman, you kill him and are just immediately in The Undernest wearing a bird army uniform. Just felt very abrupt. Despite all that I still love the game I hope they release some content for it in the future.

I have a lot of questions regarding the game's overall story... Like... a lot of questions.

Like, one major one is that it's blatantly stated that Laika was forced into having Puppy. Well, it leaves the question; who's the father? It was implied that her and Jacob were close, like siblings, but that's like the only other person ever mention anywhere within the sphere of her pregnancy. Male at least. It also leaves me to ask, were all her pregnancies apart of a ritual? Or tradition? To pass on the Grim Rider curse? Or... were a few genuine and others were out of necessity? Were they all lost to the curse? How many did Maya have before settling on Laika?

I wanna ask/discuss more, but that's the main one in my head.

Although, I did find it insane of the birds to bring their greatest enemy directly to their supreme commander. It's like asking for your entire operation to be shot to $hit.

I was under the impression that Jacob and Laika were biological siblings; if they weren't, I guess I just misunderstood, but it would be fascinating to explore that relationship if they were. Being born (presumably firstborn) into a family where only those born female get to have this power/curse passed on to them... it's really interesting! If there's a sequel, I hope this is explored.

To clear things up, Jakob was confirmed NOT to the father on BWG's discord server. It's more likely that they're siblings or childhood friends akin to siblings. Personally, my headcanon is that her father was a heavy reader which is why there's a book at the totem Laika visits in the opening cut scene. Now don't call me a simp but whoever was Puppy's dad was a lucky man.

They shouldve took the liberty of watching the tapes of her killing their creations so they wont make the same mistakes. four part plan is this: 1. No bumpy surfaces 2. Take the bike away immeditaly 3. gun-proof sheilds for the two beak god, leading right onto number four: bombs for throwing at her

Two big things for me: 1) Last boss is brain dead easy. Took 4 attempts of me spamming my machine gun while backflipping. Why is it like that?

2) Unless I missed something glaringly obvious, literally why is there no option to teleport back from the final area? I couldn't be bothered to drive all the way back with those enemies up just to finish up the last of my quests. Very frustrating. Not even a way to cook before the final boss? Like... weird decision making by the devs.

Both the ending and Puppy's rescue felt rushed or stripped to me, like there was supposed to be more to it. The end boss in particular feels like it hasn't been playtested, It's by far the easiest one in the game and you can cheese it easily. These two points are the two "Major" faults this game suffers from, but there's just so much else that's done right and makes up for it.
Also, I'd have loved more interactions with Puppy, she deserves to get more of her mom... but perhaps that's the whole point?

I think the general consensus is that the ending was rushed. Other than that, I remember a theory that Puppy isn't as attracted to Laika as Laika is to her. Mainly because your interactions with her are brief and you're gone for most of the day. This could explain why Puppy's reaction at the totem isn't so strong. Granted this could be a deviation from the norm because Laika was told to work even more in their war against the birds and she lost time to be with Puppy. Honestly I hope that theory isn't true because THAT would be my 13th reason.
