Why is this dumb repack so damn expensive?
I swear it doesn't deserve to be this expensive.

Because SEGA knew people would pay it, and after backlash for the price started they announced that they were going to delisted the original versions.

♥♥♥♥♥ please, I already have over 700 games on my account. I can afford this collection too but I won't buy it because I highly disagree with the price tag considering you can already get each game here on Steam for $5. Same games that I already bought by the way so I'm definitely not paying A$60 for the same four games again just to have widescreen support.

If you going to bring up that three of them are just the original ROM versions (since CD is already remastered here on PC), then I'm also bringing up my point that the Taxman versions of Sonic 1 and 2 can already be downloaded for free on mobile and a couple dollars each for an ad-free experience.

You can also move the mobile version's assets to Sonic 1 Forever and Sonic 2 Absolute to have (unofficial) native PC ports of the enhanced versions of the games as well, and there's also Sonic 3 A.I.R which is pretty much a remaster of the game running on PC as long as you have the ROM for it.

Sonic Mega Collection Plus had better value than this.
It costed A$29.95 back then and for that, you get 20 games in one. They're emulated, sure, but that's still 20 games along with some free comics, illustrations and short videos.

When people complained about the price of this collection, it's NOT because they "can't afford it", it's because they don't think the value it's offering is worth $40+.

Sega doesn't reward loyal customers for buying their original games, plus they delisted the original games with no legal way for newcomer to ever get them.

So loyal customers gets no discount and newcomer has no way to get the original Sonic 1, 2, CD and 3.

Delisting the original game will affect the achievement of SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics, plus there 3 less games in the collection for newcomer.
The SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics offers official mods and features like rewind, fast forward, quick save, quick load, filter for screen, full screen, etc.

Sega are screwing newcomers and loyal customers.

Looking at SteamDB, in some regions this repack of 3rd generation games that have been played in ROMs for decades costs more than fresh AAA games...

This btw for that other douche who asked me to go work 15 dollars an hour at mcdonalds, from his comfortable gamer chair, probably thinking that the earth is flat and that money is the same everywhere else. Ironically, 15 american dollars an hour makes something around a thousand bucks for my own currency's equivalent in a single day, if it's a 5 hour shift. If I'm working 5 days a week, it makes around 5000, and around a 20 grand in a month. Seasoned engineer's wage in 1st world countries, at some places, high demand specialists don't even get that much. A wage like that is only dreamable over here, and when you are working on a 3rd world country's mcdonalds wages, you can only dream about purchasing that crappy repack using your own money. Capiche?

Edit: furthermore, with everything said and done, this game is worth 429 bucks equivalent in my currency, let that sink in. What kind of game is worth that kind of money?
