They should focus on adding actual gameplay enhancements like mods do, like an option to delete the warp post animation in Sonic CD, things like that.

I feel bad for everyone that paid $40 for this...now they have to spend an extra $10 to "upgrade" while everyone else gets it for $40. Wth Sega, the "plus" shouldnt mean penalizing people.

It comes out on 23 June 2023 that is great news. I wonder how much it will cost.

Now I am interest in Sonic Origin Plus.

From what I understand; $40, this update will be included with the base version of Origins going forward. If you already own Origins, it'll be a $10 upgrade.
So wait, no 3D Blast and Genesis Spinball? I kind of thought they'd be added since their islands are in the game. I also wish they'd add in widescreen support for the GG games because they need it more than the 16 bit titles.

Its still incomplete. There are more 2D Sonic games that could have been added. Also it doesnt seem like any effort were done on the 12 added games. Just direct ports with no improvements.

No Spinball or 3D Blast unfortunately.

And widescreen for GG may not even be possible, the games would have to be massively reworked to do so. It took the team a year to do Sonic 3, and it really shows with Sonic 3 being a really shoddy port here. We would not have got Plus this soon if they were adding widescreen to 12 games.

Exactly! The GG games aren't that good either and would have made more sense as Menu unlocks or something you get for beating Missions instead of being added as DLC as a lazy cash grab. The only thing Plus has going for it is Amy.

Then add the better MS versions of the games instead (at least for games WITH MS ports) because Sonic 2 GG is almost unplayable.

Yeah that I agree with. Not really sure why they opted for the GG only. Maybe to keep things coherent? Could just be easier to say "12 game gear games" instead of "12 games from the game gear, master system, genesis"

With the Genesis games it's actually 16, so just say "With 12 more classic 8-bit titles!"

GG games are a nice addition (although I’m sure most people have these via better SADX mod).

Really excited to play Amy in Sonic 3.

It just hit me, will we finally see a Super Amy form assuming she's able to utilize the chaos/super emeralds in 3?

Ug, freaking this. I wouldn't even use "almost", the game's controls, especially for the glider, are traaaaaaaaash.

I really dislike that this version is going to be effectively replacing the original, at the same cost, but early adopters have to pay extra for it. If that's the case, which is what it's looking like. The upgrade is free for people who haven't bought the game, and penalizes people who supported Sega? Not a good way to treat your fans. (As if Sega has ever cared about their Sonic fans.) It's good that they're making this update, but don't penalize your most supportive fans Sega!

Would have liked to have seen Knuckles' Chaotix as well in this. Who knows, maybe we'll get a Sonic Origins Plus Plus with more chars and games later on. (Wishful thinking there....)

This is the sort of game that I'll be able to pick-up physically in a year on the Switch for $20 that won't have Denuvo.
