I just started playing Sonic 1 Forever and 2 Absolute today

They are all free, legal, and free of bugs, plus they don't cost you 40 bucks.

I bought this out of some strange sense of obligation since these were some of my favorite games as a kid and figured the new animations and challenge modes might make it worth the purchase. Hoped the games themselves would be solid versions, but I never did expect Sonic 3 Complete levels of customization. I'm really disappointed though, not surprised, but disappointed. I'll mess around with the challenge modes a bit longer maybe, but Origins will never be my definitive go-to version if I want to play through any of these games. And I say that even after modding Origins to a tolerable state adding back in the removed songs and applying a decent crt shader. The released version is an incompetent embarrassment and I feel bad for anyone stuck with this on consoles or experiencing Sonic 3 for the first time in this form. Forever, Absolute, and AIR completely blow Origins out of the water.

So Sonic 1 Forever, Sonic 2 Absolute and Sonic 3 Air are the best version of these game right? I heard about Sonic 1 Delta, is that any good?

The Sonic CD Decomp is really good too and looks a lot better than Origins, plus you can mod Knuckles in.
