Metal Sonic gets the worst of it in my opinion. Amy's existence is at least ACKNOWLEDGED in most games, but Metal almost never shows up outside of spin-off titles.
Additionally, that brings up another problem... no Advance ports since the N Guage.
Because she was never a playable character in the classic games. All they did was add Tails and Knuckles to Sonic 1, they were already in 2 and 3.
Also nobody likes Amy. Not even Sonic.
Also, Knuckles isn't playable in Sonic CD apparently, yet Tails is. How do you excuse a character with a full moveset from being excluded from one of the games?
Also, making her just a reskin of Sonic would be lame, and making her gameplay like in Advance 1 would require redesigning the levels too much.
I would much rather they implement Knuckles into Sonic CD instead. Maybe add Mighty and Ray from Mania instead of Amy and Metal, since those are already playable in a classic-style game.
I don't get why people are so against Amy and Metal being playable. I'd take them ANY day over Mighty and Ray again, especially since Amy hasn't been playable in a main Sonic game (as in not a spin-off or Boom) since Secret Rings two-player mode.
Secret Rings IS a spin-off.
