This story is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with my head (Spoilers, obviously)
Finished the game, got all the endings, etc. Good gameplay, amazing art, decent H-scenes.

Haven't watched ALL the events yet, but I have a rough idea what happened, but there are a lot of loose ends that are bothering me:

  • What happened to Uni? We all know that Pamela is Uni, or rather a magic demon clone of her made by the Artifact and/or Mona since disappears after Mona dies. Possibilities of what happened to her:
    • She died somewhere in the dungeons. I don't recall running across into any evidence of that, and Pamela confirms that there have been no humans in the dungeon (or at least that deep) for years except for Una and Player.
    • She got lost and died in the forest a long time ago with her body never found. Una has been in denial about her death perhaps for years, and her attempts of searching for Uni is her coping mechanism. There are no flashbacks of Uni that I can recall, not even artwork of her? Being "brutally" honest with Una makes her accept Uni's death, and why I think this leads to the Good Ending.
  • What's Mona? Very likely a demonized Una, but there's some time shenanigans going on with Mona's comment being "it's been 1000 years" if you lose to her.
    • Did she use the Artifact to wish the Player back? Judging from the Normal Ending any time looping again, that's possible, but I don't think she did. At least, I'd like to think that she respected and loved the Player enough to respect their wishes of wanting to go home.
    • She tried wishing for Uni back but it didn't work. In the dephts of despair and loneliness of losing two people she cared about and finally accepting Uni's death, she wished to "never be alone again". This is when the time shenanigans happened and the Player was (re)summoned.
    • Attempting to resurrect her sister has turned her into a demon as punishment.
    • The Artifact turned her into a demon so she can be ageless and become powerful enough to bring back "Uni" and the Player. She's certainly powerful enough with her distorting reality in the Good Ending route fight. After she turned into a demon, she left (or was teleported out) and traveled the world to gather power or knowledge, then came back to the dungeon after that. The succubi claims she never used the artifact, but it's because she already used it before the succubi arrived in the dungeon. I think this is what happened, but it took a thousand years for Mona to grow powerful. May or may not have some time travel involved too.

In a previous thread a few other players and I hypothesized about what was the situation in the game and I'll just post the most recent discussion piece that I think might make more sense of things. If you want to see everyone's thoughts here's the discussion link:

The time theory does sound weird, which is why I’d like to say my theory is the loop theory, yet because of Mona being a demon with extraordinary powers, is able to twist the world. My new idea is that Mona didn’t wish for her sister back, become a demon, and then gain all these powers, but rather Mona wishing for the ability to see her loved ones again. If she uses that wish, I think the artifact gave her demon abilities, making her able to recreate her sister into Pamela and the power to bring us back, albeit we won’t remember her thanks to her new transformation.

Just thinking about it, what if she has time manipulation abilities? There’s no way she could know everything was going to happen unless she knew for a fact when it would happen. Remember, our character states we never see Una ever again, and we stay with Mona for eternity. I’m not sure how long that “eternity” is but as humans, I don’t think we can last that long lol. So maybe, she decelerated our concept of time, and so, has the ability to manipulate time since she can manipulate space, as what we could see from the final fight Mona was able to teleport all over, just like Una. Perhaps the demon powers enhanced former Una now Mona and gave her strengthened abilities, now being able to manipulate time and space. Using her new powers, she could have gone back in time. That would explain why there are two “Unas” and as to how Mona knew exactly when we would show up. It would also explain her showing up out of nowhere and kicking out the vampire and succubus queens.

Lastly, the ending to the happy ending felt off. Mona declares we won’t be leaving in all the other endings, either dies trying or forever keeps us in her world, but when we decide to stay with Una she just smiles and tells Pamela, “Let’s go.” Sounds quite anticlimactic. Which makes me think, perhaps her whole desire was that we’d stay with her, whether it was her present self or her past/our present Una? If we stay with past/present Una, perhaps that would change the way the game was looping and back in Mona’s actual present, she’d be a happy Una with us with her.
