release button is not clickable, just the "discard" button works ...
so if anyone knows hot to deal with the problem.. =)
Had something similar happen. After the movie completed I put one of the Post Production Artists in school. That halted the completion. After taking him out of school and another day passed, I was able to release the film. I imagine if you fired anyone working on the current film it would prevent its release.
Also, the VFX/AFX artists don't like to go to their assigned offices after the movie is complete, they sometimes teleport in and out immediately. So I found assigning them to different offices causes them to actually do their jobs. If you don't have spare offices, try unassigning them and resassigning them.
