Sets are pretty limited?
Starting in 1920 there is only one type of set, Box. Is there other sets that you unlock like in the Movies, where you could get various terrains and differences. The number of animations also seems quite limited, but maybe you can research more? They don't appear in the research menu in 1920.

Nevermind, I started a new scenario in 2000 and there is no variety in the sets after what you see early on.

Is there a roadmap where this is planned?

I do hope they allow us to mod the game and create our own sets. There are only so many pirate movies I want to make in the captain's quarters. What if I want to film on a "beach"?

Or even on top of the ship, the animations are pretty limited as well. It would be nice if there was a way to create our own in-game..

They did say on another post they were looking at more animations. Again, if they just opened it up to modding, they have a great start, we can probably do better. And by we, I do not mean me, but the amazing modding community around games like this!

I am pretty sure that was on the roadmap

We would love to give modders more freedom in the future and support community creations

Just started but urban interior locations, travelling vehicles and possibly miniatures sets. Not sure how it woukd work but do something The Movies never did - go on location. Probably a bit late for that feature now. As an original owner of The Movies that I was replaying for the 100th(?) time just earlier this year, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far in Blockbuster Inc though

The one thing that stopped The Movies being even better was that Youtube hadn't been invented to publish their masterpieces. No noticed if you can do it yet, but can you export your created movies? If you could, it goes from being a good management game to a full on interesting creative tool.

It might actually be possible, considering the game already has a 'City Map'.

If they added a few locations they could have on location filming, just adding a bit of travel time two and from location and maybe adding extra costs for catering/transportation.

It is utterly fascinating that The Movies came out just a month before YouTube officially launched.

But yeah, I presume BBI will and up focusing more on either the tycoon aspect or the movie making aspect.

Either try to be the spiritual successor to The Movies or be your own thing, either is fine.

It can be rough to try to be both.

The Dungeons series started out as both but eventually became the SS to Dungeon Keeper.

Two Point Hospital started out like it was going to emulate Theme Hospital, but ended up not being that.

The Planet Games are similar on that way too.

I'm looking forward to what BBI becomes.

I would like to see more variety in set design as well, we are designing our own sets that aspect is fun. Multi-level structures, maybe contextual spots like hanging or climbing from ledges, ladders, ropes etc.

Most importantly more set items. While all sets are just boxes, I could live with that if there were more items. Like we can't even build a set for a modern living room or apartment or something. Kind of hard to shoot a comedy movie in a sci-fi or medieval setting. I mean I know of course comedy can be any theme of movie, but like it's not possible right now to film a modern sitcom or something like this unless we limit it to police or hospital theme. More themes and more items per theme is important.
