Well put.
Blockbuster Inc.: It has many problems... bugs, performance issues, balancing issues, missing features, really unpolished features and so on. Many problems that an Early Access would have solved. I do not know the numbers behind the project ...but i think that is their biggest problem right now. They made a release instead of an Early Access release. If it was in Early Access i would for sure say - buy it, play it as far as you want for now and give those devs your honest feedback! For now they seem very nice and invested in the project. Since it was not released in EA - well that is a marketing problem of sort... but if you want to support them and hopefully play a polished complete game one day... just do it!
Movies Tycoon: i do not have much experience with that one yet...but i for sure hope that they will do an EA...since that is what makes Tycoon Games really great... time for feedback and polishing together with the community.
There will be other similiar games this year as well ... for example Hollywood Animals - looks nice as far as i can tell. So you should keep that in mind as well.
BUT as others in this post (partly) said before...if you can afford it, you like that kind of games and you want to support devs that seem invested (even if there are release issues) then you should just buy both (or all of them with the other options releasing as well). I suppose every one of them will do things differently... one has other features than the others and other problems. I sure hope that all the others will do an early access release but well...i suppose we live in a world of unfinished full releases. Since this was a full release i will not be back playing this game as fast as i usually would have (but i for sure will be back because i still have high hopes). I am curious about how things will be with the other games. But in the end you will have to decide for yourself.
can you blame people? Not everyone can just afford both and many are afraid of being scammed (there enough scam games out there too) if reviews say that it is Early Access not Full Release and so on and on.
I just think it is a real marketing problem that they made a full release and thats the result. I have no idea of the numbers and it is not my part to know about them.... but even if they for example grabbed more sales by releasing it faster than the others... i just can't think it was a good idea to not go Early Access.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.....but nasty posts about a product, and/or personal attacks are not necessary. Most have either forgotten or never learnt what constructive criticism is.
Just because one cannot afford both products does not give them the right to make unfounded posts trashing the product they will not choose. As I pointed out both in my review and on these forums, the vast majority of negative comments are from those who have very little play time with the product in question.
Played the demo.....I enjoyed while I lasted.....I was tired and fell asleep while playing. that music is a little too soothing and the graphics are a bit bland, but I did enjoy the concept, although greasing palm and weird staff situations every other day seems a little much.
This one. Movies Tycoon doesn't actually film anything like The Movies did. To be fair, I don't know if you can make a movie you can watch in this one either, but it is closer in feel. At least that is what I got from the demo. That said, I still play The Movies from time to time.
I keep reading that the devs are still working on it, but it's not even Early Access... it's full release. That being the case, I doubt this will ever come close to being a true The Movies successor, or anything close to it. A nice try from a small studio I suppose, but in my opinion not worth the current asking price.
