2e795ec5 - Bandai Namco support - finally fixed it ( at least for me )
Fixing Online Battle Errors in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero : UPDATE 1 DOWN BELOW.

Introduction
Hey there, fellow kid gokus! ( yes i'm that old )
Tired of watching the "Connection Error - 2e795ec5 " screen more than people arguing over GT? Yeah, me too.

Failed Fixes That Made Me Question My Sanity
Before we get to the good stuff, let's pour one out for all the "fixes" that wasted my time at least:

  • Downgrading Windows Version: Because nothing says "fun" like attempting to downgrade from Windows 24H2 to 23H2. Spoiler: It's about as enjoyable as krillin's winstreak.
Didn't work because, surprise, downgrading isn't always possible... at least with me ( No backups and windows insider)

  • Enabling Reflect Ability Items:
Saw this gem on social media. Unless it was supposed to reflect my frustration back at me, it did absolutely nothing.

  • Flushing/Renewing DNS in Windows: "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" Yeah, and my DNS is now squeaky clean, but the game still wouldn't cooperate.

  • Updating Motherboard Drivers: Because clearly, my motherboard was plotting against my online battles. It was a good guess but, still got slapped with errors.

  • Updating Graphics Drivers: Got the latest drivers, nope.

  • Updating Wi-Fi/Ethernet Drivers: Best guess but nothing, and 1 Gbps with a cat 7 cable for the rest should been enough ( i will list my PC specs at the bottom).

Reaching Out to Bandai Namco: Desperate Times

After trying everything, I decided to contact Bandai Namco. Here's the gist ( and to me, very helpful response ) of their support:

"Hey Kojin,

Sorry to hear about your connection issues in

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

.

To fix online interruptions, please forward the following ports on your router and set your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.
or either:
...
yes i'm annoying, the answer is just below.

....
Good luck!"

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical. But hey, when Shenron doesn't, who else will.

The Real Fix: Port Forwarding (Yes, Really, for me tho)

  1. Find Your PC's Local IP Address
    • Press
      Win + R, type
      cmd
      , and hit Enter.

    • In the Command Prompt, type
      ipconfig
      and press Enter.

    • Look for the
      IPv4 Address .
      That's your PC's local IP (e.g., 192.168.1.100).

  2. Access Your Router's Settings
    • Open a web browser and enter your router's IP address into the address bar (usually something like 192.168.1.1).

    • Log in with your username and password. Default credentials are often "admin/admin" unless you've changed them (which you should).

  3. Navigate to Port Forwarding
    • Find the section labeled "Port Forwarding," "Virtual Servers," "Applications & Gaming," or something equally buried.

  4. Set Up Port Forwarding Rules
    • Click on "Add New" or "Create Rule."

    • For Steam users, input the following:
      TCP Ports: 27015-27030, 27036-27037

      UDP Ports: 4380, 27000-27031, 27036

    • Set the IP address to your PC's local IP from Step 1.

    • Name the rule something memorable, like "DB Sparking Zero Fix"—so you can laugh at it later.

  5. Change Your DNS Settings
    • While you're in your router settings, find the DNS section.

    • Set the primary DNS to
      8.8.8.8 and the secondary to
      8.8.4.4. Thanks, Google!

  6. Save and Restart
    • Save all your changes.

    • Reboot your router and your PC. Yes, turn it off and on again—classic IT crowd style.

  7. Test the Game
    • Fire up

      Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

and jump into an online match.

    • Prepare to be amazed or mildly pleased.

Why the Player Base Dropped and Why We Should Care

Let's address the elephant in the room: the dwindling player base. Between persistent connection issues and lackluster support, many players have thrown in the towel. It's like watching your favorite series get filler episodes—disappointing but fixable.

But here's the thing: this game still has so much potential. By sharing solutions and rallying the community, we can breathe new life into it. After all, what's a fighting game without a community to test your skills against?

Final Thoughts

If you've been on the verge of uninstalling or writing a scathing review fueled by gamer rage, give this fix a try first. It might just save you from unnecessary stress and help revive our beloved game.

Let's get the lobbies buzzing again. Share this guide, help your fellow gamers, and let's make

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

great again—one port forward at a time.

See you on the battlefield 🫡, assuming your router doesn't have other plans!

Also, sorry if this looks wonky, I never posted anything this marked up on steam.

PC Specs:
Processor: Intel Core i5-12600KF (16 cores, 3.7GHz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER (12GB VRAM)
RAM: 64GB DDR5
Storage: SSD 1TB NVMe
Display: LG HDR 4K Monitor

Update 1

After a few battles with a fellow community member, we've come up with a theory that it could be the stage selected.

please try to select hyperbolic.
as this is the only stage available in local multiplayer.
it seems sus that it is like this ( also as a dev perspective )

so for all of us, please test this out. thanks

Update 2

Even in this stage it seems the error still occurs , which brings me to our second observation.

it could be due to certain characters / moves.

now this is not our job to do but if you're really passionate about this, we could keep track of it.

and that would be A FCKTON.

so yeah.

Portforwarding does not work for most of the community because its not ports.

I have upnp enabled which is not a port issue at this point. You attempted like 8 changes..... and you have no idea if a combination of them worked or not. Your router could of been the problem for sure but for most players its not.

if you have never played another p2p game, then yes this could be your problem. But for most people it is not.

Just posting what has been bugging me for weeks now, and finally worked for me.

But,
In the end it's Bamco ofc.

If i can help a few just posting this, that would be a start.

Yeah, i think the error codes it spits out at you are not real codes to begin with because i have seen some of them pop up on different messages not saying communication error at all.

if you have seen this thread....... its misleading because there are no real fixes at all, while the information in the thread is important, the title makes it look like its fixable when its not.

This is indeed the thread I've opened a tab on 15 times.
Mailed them, got this response, this worked for me and my friends.

It is sad this game has gone to the dogs... tenkaichi was a big part of people's lives i know.

and if i will start getting the errors again I will mail them again.

Do you have any idea on how to gather / rally info for people ( that are even willing to work this out lol )? ( yes the process i can do ( G-Forms G-sheets ) , but im talking people actually responding, and banding for this, if you're willing to fix the game)

It worked beforehand with Dokkan

To my understanding theres not much we can do, even the content creators dont cover it. Dokkan only changes when the japanese fan base is upset or if they do something crazy illegal which recent memory was the new years banner for global showing UI goku on the banner but he was not actually pullable.

Change should happen through players, let's not get into philosophy,
But it needs a crowd.
See all the unbearable games, companies have put out and are getting no sales.
The next step, to my prediction ( as developer ) that these companies will take, is putting games out playfully mediocre so people are content at the first second after they bought it.
with DB it has been too long like that.

I acknowledge it's mostly asian based (dokkan), but the crowd is somewhere else.
demographics im not sure about ( except for mexico lol )

For this game and content creators,i am a measilly content creator.
what would you suggest i do? I want to make a difference.
( no plug here as my username isnt even my handle there )

what i meant was...... when anything changed in dokkan, it was because the japanese player base complained not global. The last significant change was when they EZA'd vegito blue, the japanese players were REALLY mad.

We just need bigger content creators to open their eyes before its too late. If your medium to small, you can cover it, but it wont do much imo.

I'm glad it worked for you. I remember your name, we tried to play a couple of times and it always disconnected with the error message, which usually doesn't happen for me.

Yes, I have understood you,
Srry if I haven't been clear on the topic.

I wanted to point out this (and don't get me wrong, Dokkan is indeed in its own category):

The question is, where is this kind of change happening elsewhere? How do we group together and tackle this?

I'm not an expert on social dynamics by any means, so we should start with something lighthearted and accurate in general.

And for fact that change often starts small, but I believe that even as a small content creator, *grouped* can make a difference. Perhaps by collaborating with other creators, regardless of their size, we can amplify our voices. Maybe organizing a community campaign or starting discussions to raise awareness could help.

suggestions ? ( like, not that im challenging you, im reallly asking )

I dont think theres enough people is enough to do anything about it. and most people playing online think were rage quitting. I truly think theres nothing we can do, and while it affects us now.....

Later down the road it will affect them when a new game releases and decides to not work for them instead of us.

I feel like in the first 2 weeks was the best chance we had, most people have slightly moved on or refunded.

Don't open ports...it's not 2000, this shouldn't be required at all. Game issue.
