Do all characters have different health/damage online?
Just wondering. I played a few players matches and it seemed that way. If so, does that mean people are going to be picking the strongest characters always, or is their some sort of way to remove that feature? I'm not complaining, and if that's by design it's okay, I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

You can check stats in various screens. Go to shop/customize for the easiest. Also when you buy characters you can
The game has a point system, the games ranked mode is designed around team battle, for instance Whis is 10 points, a team can only have 15 points, So you can't have a team of Beerus and whis for example as they are both 10 points. All the big characters are 10 points or more. So you will only be able to pair them with lower DP level characters. If you are playing single battles then yes people will always pick gogeta or vegito and ect, but the game is not balanced around single battles and they devs even said it wont be.

So for instance, kid goku is gonna hit like a wet noodle compared to broly and that is by design. Its working as intended.

Oh gotcha! This makes a lot of sense. I have always filtered to just 1 on 1 battles, but it sounds like the game is really designed to be a dp people game. I appreciate you taking the time to explain this to me!

Yes they do, however you can adjust their stats slightly with the dynocaps. (capsule corp items) You can equip like 10 i think to adjust the stats slightly to customize your character slightly.
For example one that makes my blasts cost 1 and 1/2 bars instead of 3.
Better ki charge for rush combos,
the more hits you get the more damage you do in a combo as the combo progresses.
More health
start off with more ki
etc etc etc,

you can even make presets and make set ups for different types of fighters so if you pick a new one you can quickly equip the right cap mods.

Do they make non OP characters OP? Nah, but it does increase their stats according to the way you want and your playstyle.

Its more in depth than that. Characters have different:
Health
Melee damage
Melee defense
Ki charge speed
Ki defense
Super damage
Ultimate damage
Movement speed

I haven't had the chance to complete the compilation of all my data yet, so I'm not sure if throw is separate from melee damage, and ki blasts are separate from super damage, but I can tell you this much:

Regular characters take more melee damage and less super/ki blast damage than giant characters who take less melee damage and more super/ki blast damage.

Wow, that is much more complex than I thought. I'd love to see your analysis when you're done!

Its a WIP. I did the same thing for Naruto ultimate ninja storm 4

You're the real mvp!

I may do some in-depth analysis at some point, like storm 4, I got my hands on the debug version of the game and was able to rip the direct values. Where there's a will there's a way. Lol

Im full Videl, I haven't been able to win practically any match. First is my lack of understanding how the game works as I just started, and second Videl being unable to do many things since she lacks health compared to others and abilities like teleportation.

Run the battle practice mode. Itll teach you what you need to know. Also, videl has full access to all of the core mechanics.
