Why not just use Standard?
I noticed a lot of people complaining about the controls changing from Classic to Standard online.
It begs the question: Why not just use Standard to begin with?

As someone who has owned and played every Budokai game, and has more hours in BT3 for Wii than some people do on their entire Wii console, I don't understand what the issue is.

Update:
People keep inferring their own bias/ego/interpretation/whatever into this when I'm literally just asking why people changed from the default to begin with. Coming from someone that has played all of the classics to death and has no problem with the new scheme.

We shouldn’t have to change what we are used to and have hours of experience with for a bug that can simply just be fixed

a lot of people have pride and egos higher than vegetas, turn standard on and turn some accessibility options on until you get used to the game

Game shouldn't change your controls on the fly, that's a nasty bug and it should be fixed asap.

But a lot of people is already used to the BT3 controls (including myself) so it's way easier and natural to use the classic scheme.

its not even switching to the standard it just breaks the controls and makes everything go to one input and the only fix is the other player also having classic controls on which is obviously something you can't guarantee

I've seen videos where both Blast 2 attacks are mapped to the same input.

Dude, that's pathetic. You sound EXACTLY like people who ♥♥♥♥ on Modern in Street Fighter 6. YOU are not the arbiter of how to play a game. If people want to use Standard that's fine. Classic is just as fine. You like one and some people like another. Honestly, the FGC people online acting like they're the kings of the world and anyone who dares be different from them is just wrong. Like, no bud, YOU are wrong. Objectively. You should feel ashamed for thinking everybody MUST do what you say because you said it. Take that nonsense someplace else.

You don't even deserve a Jester because you're not just a clown, you're the entire circus.

If there's a control scheme choice, you should be able to pick either without a bug messing it up. It's really that simple.

It doesn't change to standard. It visually glitches to display standard controls and the controls are bugged.

Why should anyone play a way they don't want to because the devs are bad at their jobs?

But WHY do they want to play that way?

Are they just bad at adapting or what?
Like it takes actual effort to switch to that control scheme, it's not the default. SO they chose not to learn the default and I don't get why anyone would do that.

It's amusing how offended you are at something that didn't happen.
I never once said anyone should or shouldn't play any way. I'm asking why people chose to change it from the default controls, when I too have played the classics and have no problem with the new scheme.

(and frankly, imo Guard on RB/R1 is objectively better because my finger is almost always resting on it; even when I'm pressing RT/R2 the knuckle between the proximal phalanx and the middle phalanx is resting on the corner of R1/RB. This makes me objectively faster at guarding and instant transmissions since all I have to do is shift my finger pressure; that's just a fact.)

To the rest of you: who tf said I was trying to justify a bug or force anyone to play a certain way?
You assumed that, when I'm just asking why anyone would change it from the default to begin with.
You know what they say about people that assume...

That's actually interesting, and weird.

I wish we could get further insight into how such a bug came to be, but I know that will never happen, sadly.
the game offers both control styles, why should the control style change randomly when you play online?

If the game only offered modern controls then sure it'd be a little more silly to expect them to program in a new control scheme, but they already did, so make it work at all times

I updated the first post since yet another person has turned this into "why should I HAVE to play that way" when nobody is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ saying that

I thought maybe years old muscle memory would wake up and it did. I don't go remapping games before I play them but they offered it at the beginning so I took it. Practiced for hours and now I gotta re-learn it.

I wouldn't have even thought of changing the controls but it was like the third thing that popped up when I launch the game
