Why play this game instead of Kakarot or Xenoverse 2?
They have the exact same gameplay with more content.

This game is just PVP focused with barely any single player content, while both Kakarot and Xenoverse 2 have extensive solo content, and Xenoverse 2 is keep getting continuous updates.

There's literally makes no sense to pay more for this game when you get the same gameplay in the other two games....not to mention 50% of the roster is just variation to pad the numbers.

I make it short: Because the combat is fun and not a joke like xenoverse and kakarot.

No because Xenoverse 2 is a MMORPG based on Dragon Ball Online and much of Xenoverse connects with Super Dragon Ball Heroes(The card game I also have). Battles are co op centric and Ribrinne is top tier in that game. Custom Characters have their own PvP tournament play there. Kakarot is an Action RPG Movie strongly recaps the best of Dragon Ball Z manga and anime, but it doesn't focus anything other than Goku.(His father, Future Trunks, and Gohan) I would regret buying DBZ: Kakarot if it doesn't have what I want because I already know the SAME story; Lacks more Super content.(End of Z expansion is nice and all but....) Xenoverse 2 has the advantage in getting Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo though.

Kakarot is such a mediocre game in comparison
Must be new to pvp games. If you want solo content, play another game.
This is a PvP game. Solo was made to teach you to fight for online play under the guise of story because as you go on they are stronger and suppose to be harder than the last fight to slowly increase your skill. Not for an actual story. That was kakarot. That and it's not like you haven't seen the anime and if you haven't you should on the simple bases of it's the grandfather of anime.
Oh yeah and animes that use 3D 99% of the time look like ass so hard pass. We don't need another berserk.

Are you dumb? So you want this game to also have more PvE content when you just mentioned two games that have a ton of PvE content? And you really don't understand this game caters to a different audience?

Kakarot - For the story
XV2 - for the multiverse/RPG stuff and CaC/what ifs
Sparking Zero - for the pvp / nostalgia

I see no reason it should be anything else.
Xenoverse 2:
- Looks Worse
- Plays Worse
- Loads Worse (even on SDD)
- Has a smaller roster (even with all DLC)
- Doesnt have playable giants

Super Namekians and Giant Apes beg to differ

But it's the one with dynamic cinema storytelling which everybody wants Sparking Zero's Episode Battles to be like that. So far, no Dragon Ball Super content other than Battle of Gods/Ress F and Trunk's side story with Shin.

Xenoverse? A MMO? Mate, with all respect but it's just more of a RPG than an mmo. There really is nothing MMO about Xenoverse, not in slightest.

Kakarot and Xenoverse have a bunch more stuff, yeah, but I'd argue that quantity isn't better than quality. Both Kakarot & Xenoverse are a mile wide but half an inch deep.
Also, this constant idiocracy about how said part of roster are variations.. seriously? That's literally every Dragon Ball game. Xenoverse has it, the older Tenkaichi games had it, so did the Budokai series. etc etc

Other than large lobbies fill with more than 50 people and you're playing PQs with 5 human players. It's basically Dragon Ball's Phantasy Star Online
Because this one is actually good. It's the real deal. That's why.

Kakarot is actually good though. No hate on it.

Lobbies fill with 50 people? Mate, that's basically a main menu or what exactly do you mean by lobbies? Because running around in the city is basically not doing anything.
Do we now call up to 6 player missions a mmo? Yeah, definitely not. That would mean that most online games are mmos. For the entire DB franchise it's probably as close as it gets but that doesn't make it one.

i suggest you go to the xenoverse 2 steam page and look at the feature list on the right hand side. it says "MMO"
