turn off assists?

hey im trying to properly learn the game with all controls etc and was wondering if it would make more sense to just turn off all the assists from the get go so i actually only achieve what i learn

Yeah I would recommend so.
Getting into the game you can leave them on so the AI doesn't completely wipe you out. But if you really intend to learn the game, turn them off.
Most of the assists will only confuse you/throw you off with your own timing

Highly recommend you jump into a training match, with no assists what so ever, and start practicing against the hardest difficultly computer. It's helped me a ton. You'll know you've made progress once you can do a offline battle against CPU's, and win a 1v5. That's essentially what the Jiren story mode is.

Yes assist mode is actually bad and can get in the way when you're trying to properly dodge
