Steam Deck Online
Is there a reason why the online for steam deck doesn’t work? Will Bandai fix steam deck online? Especially since I paid for the Ultimate Edition.

Yeah, I've just crashed out of pretty much every fight online and gotten a disconnection penalty and it's not my fault, I assumed it was a bad connection, but now I'm seeing the Deck has a bug that terminates online matches? It's wild. The whole rest of the game works fine, but not online. Wild.

I have a gut feeling it won't get fixed but hopefully I'm wrong.

Everything but multiplayer works perfectly fine. Multiplayer SHOULD be working, it loads in, but it will DC you instantly on loading in. You get less than 2 seconds of the match before it kicks you. It's probably something stupid on Bandai's end. I'm thinking it's primarily related to Linux and Steam OS as most people reporting the issue are Deck users.

As mad as people will get at it, I'm almost positive it's not a serious issue for Windows players. I can run the game perfectly fine on all my Windows machines, but my Linux Steam Deck doesn't work with online. It's a tough thing for people to hear when they wanna avoid Windows that Linux isn't as good and will have problems, but it's the truth.

Oh that's very true. The bootleg ass os using people love to pretend that garbage is amazing yet it can't even run frame generation on nvidia cards or hdmi 2.0 fully on all hardware.. Even rockstar don't give a damn bout it among other online gaming places. You had to see the melt down from linux people when they couldn't get on space marine 2 because of the garbage os.. funny stuff. It never surprises me when the issues come from that side really. Confuses me more why valve is so focused on it when all that time and income could be put towards something more useful like game developments and so on. Can't tell me having a license fee for the deck would of been more than what they have put towards that garbage os and the amount of time to work on proton.

for PC players, is the game supposed to launch with EAC? If I try to fight online and check task manager, there's no instance of any antivirus being used at all by the game. I'm starting to suspect that the communication errors are due to EAC failing to launch on some machine? It's either the game doesnt use any AV at all (i highly doubt for an online game lol) or its not starting at all and its kicking us out

Funny you mention that, I haven't seen AEC launch with it. I haven't gone looking, but I don't remember the usual EAC splash page that comes up at boot like other games with it do. Could be in the background entirely, but that would be abnormal. I'm going to assume that's the culprit, it's the most likely reason I can think of.

I haven't been able to check with people whose online matches work fine - I joined two discords and asked on reddit but for some reason the people in this community are difficult to talk to and I feel like they don't read..

Either way I checked my task manager thoroughly and couldnt find any instance of EAC being present. I play other steam games and for those EAC is always running. Odd

Yeah, I've stopped going to game forums and started mainly just doing my own testing and research. People have become far less helpful and talkative online. Everyone these days cannot handle hearing things they don't like and rumors spread like wild fire. When you do find good information, it's been buried deep away and it's nearly impossible to compile worth while list of things to check into. Rare times when you do get helpful people honestly, it's why I try to be as helpful as possible and not just say wah wah trash this bad that. Actually saying, hey this is a thing and making sure I point my finger at the right people is better than feeding rumors.

It to do with the FPS you need 60 fps constant or you be kicked cause of the anti cheat.

I also bought ultimate edition thinking steamdeck would be perfect.

I really hope they fix it as steamdeck really is the king when it comes to comfortability.

Can't best chilling on bed or sofa playing.

You can lock fps at 45 with engine.
Ini fix and play with other steam deck users

Isn't it possible to keep it at 60 fps by lowering all the graphic parameters? But this thing is strange, since when does the anti-cheat activate if the frames are lower than the allowed threshold?
