There is a difference. Most games of this sort when having multiplayer, have a sort of balance around them. Surely there's always some characters that are better than others, but it's generally things such as ease of play, and mechanics that they do better (Longer combos, better I-frames, etc etc). In this game, characters have literal statistical differences.
Higher health pools, higher damage dealt, literal Time to Kill and more.
When 2-3 characters have a significant higher amount of these compared to each other character, than any Ranked battle will simply include these characters.
Whats the point of a huge roster if as time goes on, everyone is going to play the same character?
There should be a way to filter or 'ban' characters or maybe a "power level" queue where certain characters can only play against certain characters, else every match is going to be SSJ4 Gogeta in a few weeks.
I don't want to be rude here, but I hope you realize a game like Street Fighter 6 characters have a statistical difference too.. Marissa/Honda have more HP than the rest of the cast and Zangief stands at the top of them all with it being even higher.
It might not be as horrible as this but thinking it's 100% equal is silly.
The stats are distributed differently. If someone has more Health, than he has something else being worse, such as being slower, less damage, weaker skills or more.
Gogeta has no weakness, he is objectively better in everything. More damage, more health, more speed, great abilities. There is no reason *not* to pick him, if you're specifically looking to win. And if that's the case, that means the diversity and general fun of multiplayer matches will be gone, and the only times you'll be able to really enjoy yourself is among friends.
I’ve done dozens of matches and haven’t seen a single Goku other than UI unless you include Black.
Almost everyone is Gogeta SSJ4, some Blue Gogeta and lot of UI Goku’s.
The rest was one and dones (2 Blacks, 1 SSJ4 Vegeta, one Super Frieza and one Future Gohan).
The overwhelming amount were Gogeta with some UI Goku.
I honestly only play Single battles.
I play mostly end of Z and Super Goku because I love SSB Goku(As seen on my profile) and SSJ2-3 Goku.
And Ultimate Gohan because he’s my favorite Dragon Ball character.
Again this is kind of your fault. The devs were rather clear that the multiplayer is balanced around DP battles, not singles
I agree that singles would be better with different DP brackets and maybe even some rule changes, etc. so that its not just the same 5-10 characters all the time but this is a problem that only exists in Ranked Singles
