Cool characters from super aren't gonna make it like Champa, instead we get daima slop. And this game honestly feels like it's worth $30-$40. Also putting in expensive DLC music is insane, it should have been in the base game with how much it's lacking.
The fanboyism is another thing too. Games with too many fanboys eventually turn into pure unadulterated doo doo water.
Just from reading the reviews, I can see that the game is full of fanboys who completely ignore how much this game is lacking, and how this game is less innovative and inspired than all the other DBZ games. DBZ games during their time were revolutionary and fun, in 2025 this game feels like it was created by some high school students as a school project.
I only played the game for about a few weeks or month before i just couldnt take it anymore, from the boring repetitive attack dialogue (they seriously couldn't have added more voice lines for super attacks?!) to the absolute lack of a decent story mode, to the combo system being reptitive across all characters. Instead of quality characters, they focused on filling the entire game with copy and pasted characters and attack moves.
In the end i feel like this was an extremely lazy cash grab, and I noticed a lot of japanese/korean games are extremely expensive and lack even more than their western counterpart in nearly all aspects. And western triple A games aren't that good either, but at least they try to give more replay value, and the game albeit lacking, offers "more" than their eastern counterpart even when we consider western games tearing out content from completed games to resell as dlc on release day.
Western indie game developers at least are more reasonable in the content they provide and actually listen to their community until they and their community feel like the game is done. There is nothing "done" about sparking zero, it just feels like a flashy and unashamed cash grab.
I wish I could have given my money to someone in need or someone homeless. This was just an absolute waste of money and time. I had to trick myself into playing the game longer than what i could handle. Again extremely boring and reptitive. We have like 100 dbz games to analyze and improve upon, they just couldn't be bothered, and released the most lazy dbz game ever. But "nice" graphics though.
Developers really are trying to teach me a lesson. Don't buy Triple A games at all on release, just wait for them to become absolutely dirt cheap because i'm not missing anything from playing these games at all, at all, at all, AT ALL!!! I'm not missing anything, there was no need for me to shell out that much money on a game that looks mostly ghosted, followed by bland and expensive as hell DLC.
Thats when you know developers lack imagination when they start tearing out music and re-releasing it on the game's release day. Adding barely 5 fingers of new characters into the game that play out exactly like the other characters, nothing unique about them, just reskin, you repeat the same combos basically across all characters, and that's it. They put way too much time and money on making sure there are tons of characters people will barely touch or play. We don't need 500 gokus, 300 vegetas, 20 gohans, and 10 trunks. Should have focused on a specific timeline or saga, and then added in fleshed out characters and combos with better destructible maps, coherent and engaging story mode(even if it's short), and better voice acting. They barely put energy or effort into their voices unlike the anime counterpart which is full of emotion in their voices when they fight (specially talking about the english voices, gohans voice is pretty pathetic now too). I miss the original gohan voice Stephanie Nadolny. Her voice on kid gohan is an incredible fit. What a bunch of idiots to not keep her for the anime and game. She should have been paid extra to make an appearance.
They couldn't even be bothered to at least show goku transform into super saiyan 1 with actual animation. I get that they wanted to cut cost and charge us an arm and a leg for a copy and paste game, but at least they could have added an actual scene of goku transforming into super saiyan 1? Why not just use media from the anime? Why the hell did they just give us lazy and boring, slideshow of pictures as a story mode charging premium price on everything including the torn out music resold the next day?
Eastern games are a worse offender than western when it comes to price and content. You get even more screwed from Japanese/Korean developers. Hideo Kojima's metal gear solid series, final fantasy, darksouls/elden ring/Sekiro, and Ninja Gaiden(the old ones) are the only games that really shine out globally to me and others. I tried getting into Black desert mmo, but they deleted my account because i didn't reply to an email (they also deleted russian accounts) because something along the lines of users having to agree with new terms of service or whatever, and because i didn't reply to it, they deleted my account which i spent over $400, and when i asked for them to give me back my account they told me i should have replied to the email, basically a "go f yourself" moment, they got my money, they don't care. I'll just stick to watching dragon ball, games just don't do it. I knew it too. Deep down when i watched the gameplay before release. I just got sold because the fanboy hype convinced me otherwise. And In general i believe fanboys do way more harm to anything than good. All they do is gatekeep and overhype everything to the point where it's an actual detriment to the game or franchise's future.
I keep having to relearn my lesson every freaking year, I need a new hobby. If I ever have kids i'll teach them that many developers and games typically overvalue what they offer, and that they are better off crafting and hanging out with friends. It's usually fun and free to hang out with friends and find things to do together. Too bad modern society sucks to have friendships in, but for those who can make it work, don't ever lose that. You just end up trying to fill the void in your heart with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ slop games with no love from the developers at all. Just a bunch of suits and ties thinking about how to make the most money off the reputation or brand of something. They don't care about pushing the franchise or dbz fighting games. They just want easy money that cost them not much to make. That's it.
They can't make actual content so they either copy and paste, do trendy stuff, and/or rip out content to resell it on release day or soon after. This is not what you should be giving your money to. It incentives this kind of behavior. They will use your money to create another game that is just as bland and boring or invest your money towards getting more money out of you. They aren't thinking about making an actual game. And it shows.
The very positive reviews is the on the same BS level as starfield winning game "MOST INNOVATIVE GAMEPLAY" award of the year (2023).
The more fanboys a franchise has, the more likely suits and ties will realize that and take advantage of everyone. Criticism is drowned out by the fanboys, and steam's attempt to always mitigate thumbs down/negative reviews to make it more seller friendly is absolutely pathetic. The more popular something is, the more crappy it gets over time because of the need to always grow capital higher than before even when the game or franchise is doing fine. If these developers pulled in over 1 billion, their next game would be just as hollow, bland, and boring because most of the money is just pocket and not spent on the game or actual developers themselves. It just goes to shareholders, investors, and the CEO/executives. That's it. That's why you we pay so much for everything.
Also game developers charging for colors or to change your name is the most disgusting practice i've ever seen. They turned HALO into one massive joke. Only having a small selection of free colors and putting the rest behind a paywall?! Jesus christ, i just can't even with developers these days. People complaining about "woke" more than the actual problems that plague the gaming industry. It's no wonder why nothing will ever get better of fixed. And I was told by a steam moderator before that politics was against TOS. They allow the entire steam community to be flooded by anti-woke political crap probably because steam and developers realized that having petty personal issues is more valuable for the community than actual criticism of games. Thats why they spent more time programming ways to silence negative criticism of games than they have about the anti-woke garbage i see on every discussion board, super toxic platform and gaming industry.
I wish i had the knowledge and money to buy a plot of land in the middle of the woods or mountains and live there. I just can't. From ♥♥♥♥♥♥ work, to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ relationships, to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games, to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lifestyle. Games aren't even games anymore. YOU ARE THE GAME! These companies are playing us like video games. It's not about pleasing the gamer and letting the game speak for itself to sell well. It's about mental manipulation, trickery, influencing, and overselling everything you do to make the most money, it's not about making an honest game.
Now that my entertainment is mostly overly boring, repetitive, bland, unimaginative, and expensive, I see how everyday life is so trash. The amount of fanboys on dragon ball is a complete liability. But at the same time i strongly believe that the developers don't care and are trying to please their investors. Could care less about what the actual consumers want, the fanboys boosting and drowning out everything will always ensure that games will always be lacking, no matter how much they charge and how little they have to offer.
This is how u know they are using archontic deception, it's out of gaming ; they find success in deceiving people and that's it how their religion work
sad but I agree
