Bandai as developer is scammy. It's better to watch anime.
Old games like Tenkaichi and Raging blasts are still good, if you don't mind old graphics.
If you want proper introduction into the story, without watching the anime, go for Kakarot.

If your looking to learn the story of the game, Kakarot does the better story, it also has nice DLC side stories that do a good job at covering up loose ends. Kakarot does not have alot of super content, so you wont learn much about db super from the game kakarot, but sz also cuts out ALOT.
If you want to experience the story, play Kakarot instead
