fix stutter and increase fps with lossless scaling
1. if you want to increase the fps, buy lossless scaling on steam set the hotkey and pick amd fsr for scaling mode, frame gen pick lsfg 2.3 and x3 mode. (Works great in this game due to no small detail artifacts!) (This does not unlock the fps of the game per so but additional fps get interpreted by lossless scaling with fsr, so it gives you way more fps and creates awesome fluid animations but the game stays intact at the right speed)
2.go to 3d options in geforce settings, pick sparkin zero, set refresh rate to highest possible for your monitor, power > prio max performance, latency > ultra, texture filtering quality > high performance, trilinear > on, threaded > on (sorry if i used wrong terms its german for me)
3.go to the games exe, right click propertys, compatibility, check execute as admin, check fullscreen optimize deactivation, go to high dpi settings and check the lower box and select to let the app control it, accept everything.
4.start the game set everything to low and try one by one to increase until you reach a performance you like if it still is bad set pixel res to 80
5.if you set it up activate lossles scaling with you hotkey
6.enjoy the game! (i get stutterfree 180+ fps this way with a 3070ti)

i have the feeling the FPS lock is in place because of online mode.
because, if you unlock your FPS via the trick which got shown in some topics here to let me say 120fps but your openent is still at 60fps will this cause trouble. so said some peoples because of the fps missmatch.

so, i assume bandainamco was like "everyone should be able to maintain atleast 60fps with the min to recommended speccs" *shrugs*.

The Game runs at the exact same speed, i dont see how 180 fps gives you an advantage to 60, especiall due to the fact that lossless scaling kind of "guesses" about 3 frames inbetween. Its not even from the engine itself, it just makes the animation look more fluid

if i would find the topic again would i show you the explanation of it but, i try to remember what they wrote.

there was a post where someone which is doing the fps unlock thing in the ini but complained that they turn into slowmotion mode when they fight other peoples.

then someone else asked if they unlocked their FPS.
the person who said they turn into slow mode replied with yes.

so, then it got explained that a fps missmatch leads to exactly this.
like leme say you have 180fps but your openent only 60. you are technicly way faster vs your openent. the missmatch happens and you get slowled down and the game turns for you into a slowmotion show while nothing changes for your openent because they never modified it. if anything is it an adventage for the person which didnt modified the fps and more a problem for the person which has more fps lol.

google the topic where peoples explain how to unlock the FPS and you may find the comments what happens if you run into someone which is still capped at 60fps but you´re not.

this was in xenoverse 2 aswell an issue. it wasnt that much noticeable but it lagged noticeably more when you was fighting against someone with unstable FPS but having a fullbar connection then against someone with stable fps and fullbar connection.

The problem is the ini changes the game, lossless scaling grabs the game after the engine is done and guesses its frames inbetween. So the game actually runs at 60 fps but gets more frames after so the game stays at the same speed no matter the fps boost. I tested it online and it works flawless and you get no advantage whatsoever except fluid animations

You can't play online matches if you unlock the fps, so that's a bad idea.

The sole thing you need to play without stuttering is to add this to your engine.ini file.

[/script/engine.engine]
bAllowMultiThreadedShaderCompile=True

Dude i literelly just played online with 180 fps but as i said i use lossless scaling and not change the ini at all
JoJo Oct 9, 2024 @ 3:43pm
But i have to say i tested it in only in one fight just now to see if it works and even though i dont felt or think i had an advantage and only had fluent animations (i actually lost lol) i would reccomend against it just for fairness sake. Use it offline and turn it off via hotkey when playing online

Lossless scaling doesn't unlock fps, it generates new ones using the existing ones.

type %appdata% in your search bar on the bottom left or in you Run Command. go to locallow and go to SparkingZero folder. its in there
EDIT: Do this and lower your resolution in the game settings a bit, min I would go is 80. These 2 things will make your game run faster
