So how are you supposed to land super moves? There's no tracking and you can't chain into them half the time.
topic. Was doing the goku vs frieza fight and I couldnt land his Rush blast because it wouldnt let me do it after launching frieza away bc of the control overlaps (bringing up move menu plus y, which is the input for the super, just makes goku do the basic Y followup melee where he vanishes behind and launches them away).

been trying to do kakunsa or whatever her name is but her supers are virtually worthless since they both dont have tracking and she leaps back before using it so everyone can just block or sidestep. her ult is even worse.

This is on top of how limited Ki is compared to previous games, where theres no stamina gauge anymore so movement drains Ki now, plus melee doesn't recharge Ki barely at all anymore, and supers now take 3/4 of your total ki just for a basic attack, so you only get one chance to try to land something and its just not even worth trying to because of all the mechanics issues.

do it after combo´s or counters. i mean, ultimatively can you go into the super training mode and since you know the basic, go straight into intermediate or even advanced techniques o-o.

you´ll learn it there but, dont expect that the AI complies nicely like your piccolo training buddy aka getting hit willingly xP.

to be honest the training has been fairly worthless because most of the "advanced" stuff like vanish and perfect counter literally dont work, so you get better results from just button mashing than trying to do the game's timing, in my experience.

Also the entire issue is the game wont LET me do it after combos. I try to and it just does the regular melee followup instead of the super movie. Like i try to launch frieza away and try to followup firing a kamehameha, and im MASHING left trigger +Y, and Goku instead does the pursuit vanish combo chain.

it is a trash game..... !
terrible execution

Launcher into super has been working for me without issues.
Maybe you have the assists enabled? I think some of them trigger auto follow ups.

That's 100% untrue and it suggests a fundamental misunderstanding of the game's controls. Which checks out because not only have I won matches without taking a hit, I don't really have any issues comboing skills or ultimates.

The one unresponsive thing is mid combo character swaps, because the delay until the menu opens is very unintuitive.

they do work, its just easier to apply in training mode then in a full on battle where you are under pressure, thats where practice comes in place.

like i already wrote, the AI will not just stand there or running willingly into a counter and so forth. i mean, play on easy mode and you get situations like that where the AI is willingly letting you hit lol but, the normal storry AI will not let this happen.

and to your trigger thing, since you use the classic mode, look at the controls.
in full charge mode aka for the super kamehameha need you to push left trigger+left stick down+Y

if you only push left trigger+Y is he ofcourse doing the rush attack lol, because thats simply what you telling it to do. i dont wanna get insultive or disrespectfull now but ... look atleast at the controls in the totorial before you even say "it doesnt works". because you just proven that you dont even know that you need to push your left stick up+y to to the other attack or left stick down+y to do the super attack ... >_>.

so, if you only mashin Y then ofcourse ... you would do the rush attack looool.

the Up y or Down Y are only for the 2nd super and the ultimate. Your first super (in this case, the kamehameha) is just a neutral Y.

Also whether i'm pressing LT+Y or LT+up or down Y, it still shouldn't be trying to do the rush chain, it should be doing one of the supers.

that might be the issue. Let me try turning those off.
Degalon Oct 9, 2024 @ 2:11am
Nope. Turned off all assist stuff and its still just doin the "vanish behind and hit them again" followup like 3 times in a row before it will fire the super.
Dome Oct 9, 2024 @ 2:15am
i havent had any issues, most knockbacks will combo into supers, some characters like earlier piccolo have hard to hit specials though that require specific setups.

You need to delay your supers a bit or else you will vanish again. I don't like it either but that's how it is.

which is to say, you can't chain into or really land anything, since thats giving them time to recover and block/evade the super.
