someone should make a bug report in the proton repo
The notion that "Linux = cheater" is not only misleading but also incredibly outdated. I've seen this meme circulate for far too long, and honestly, it’s time we put it to rest. Let’s get one thing straight: Proton is not used for cheating. It's a compatibility layer designed to allow Windows games to run on Linux systems, bridging the gap between different operating systems, not for any illegitimate purpose.
Just because someone prefers to use Linux does not imply that they're engaging in dishonest behavior. In fact, there is absolutely no basis or foundation for claiming that a Linux player is inherently a cheater. This kind of assumption is not only unfounded but does a disservice to the entire Linux community.
Here’s a fact that might surprise some: it's actually much, much, much easier to cheat on Windows than it is on Linux. The majority of cheating tools are designed to run on Windows due to its monopoly on the gaming market. In contrast, Linux’s open-source nature demands more technical expertise to modify, making it less attractive for cheaters.
Anyone who has followed Valve's journey knows that the company is a major advocate for Linux gaming. Through initiatives like Proton, they are actively investing both effort and a lot of money to break down barriers for Linux gamers. Because of this, we're witnessing a shift where game developers are progressively and quickly starting to finally support and allow players to play on Linux.

Also what anti-cheat does the game use? Easy Anti Cheat?
Also there are reports of Linux users playing online (protondb & reddit)
