The DLCs will add more time to the story modes and they will also likely add additional characters' stories as the game continues to get updates. You can also do multiple play throughs and make different choices at the "what if" scenarios throughout the story.

Additionally, you get zeni (currency) for doing missions, so that is good for buying stuff/characters in the store as well.
