There are tons of different games out there.
Dragon Ball Origins 1 & 2 on ds are aventure/action rpg games
Dragon Ball Fusions on 3ds is a strategy game
Dragon Ball Heroes games are card games
Dragon Ball Legacy of Goku 1 & 2 and Buu's fury are zelda like on GBA
Dragon Ball Online is a MMORPG
Fighterz is a 2D fighting game
Budokai are 2.5D Fighting games
There's even a turn based RPG on DS too.
There are plenty of no arena fighting Dragon Ball games.
I kind of wish we got a "Attack of the Saiyans" type of game with turn-based RPG mechanics or a character action type of game similar to some of Platinum Games titles. And games like DBZ Kakarot don't count because your pretty limited when it comes to the fighting mechanics since you can't be creative or experimental.
Even if we were to get a Fusions 2 on something else than switch, it would take a few years to finish. The covid was a stop for a lot of studios, we're barely getting new and interesting games, it needs the time to get back on tracks.
