So let's say I buy the standard edition...
Does it allow you to upgrade to the other tiers without having to buy it all over again?

Prior to release, no. After release, probably.

Oof. A friend just gifted me the game even though I insisted he shouldn't and I wanted the ultimate edition but the gift isn't telling me what version of the game it is.

Does it really not say what edition it is, or is it because it's the standard version?

What they did with Xenoverse 2 is allowed you 'eventually' to buy a DLC that had all the pre-order bonuses.

Anyones guess if they will do that here.

No, it straight up doesn't tell you anything about it. Not the edition, not the price tag to give some kind of indication...just the game and that you're getting it as a gift.

Check the licenses and product key activations to see if it says an edition or just "DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO"?

Yeah, it was the ultimate. I decided to chance it and accept it. The license validates it as being the Ultimate edition of the game.

I guess the gift system is just outdated then. Nice that your friend gifted you the most expensive version.

Yeah, super awesome of him despite me asking him not to. I'm thankful though!

I purchased the ultimate edition and it says or shows no indication what edition I purchased. Similarly the same for SM2, until release. So on release it will show... For some reason.

So I was gifted the Deluxe Edition. I claimed it, verified what they bought was the deluxe but in my library, it just shows the base version. And, on the store page, it says the BASE game is in my library but not the deluxe. Again, I checked the purchase history of the gift giver (family member). and it IS the deluxe. . . i'm just concerned on why it says i can still buy the deluxe edition for myself on the storepage??? Shouldn't it say "in your library"???
