You should play around in the training mode a bit, everyone was struggling with that fight. I legit played 2 hours of tutorial to get a decent hang of things. Defence is so important in this game. Train your super counters, z-counters, perception and super perception.

Super training helps. I was saying the same thing the first few hours but after getting a better understanding of the systems in the super training, you can easily make the a.i. your ♥♥♥♥♥.
Just do the real tutorial. When you understand what is happening and know exactly what you are doing story mode is just easy.

With each battle you pretty much have to get better at another mechanic to fight some of these fights.

There are some fights where it seems they block all the time, just grab and throw them, then do a blast on them as they can't control themselves, or dodge and fire back, etc.

Great ape is a prime example of following the anime. You're not suppose to fight the ape up close you're suppose run away and dodge his attacks and fire blasts at him just like in the anime.

I mean if you're really good fighting him up close is possible don't get me wrong. In the long run story mode will make you a better fighter eventually if you don't give up. Then take some of those skills to pvp!

The game demanding someone spend 2 hours in a clunky boring practice mode so they can play a story mode is ridiculous. Almost every tip to beat episode battle revolves around some kind of cheese or exploit spamming Ki attacks or abusing sparking infinite's. Its ok I know we are all honeymooning over a game we hype to no end but we can just tell the truth that this game has zero acceptable single player or offline modes

Go through training and use your sparking mode to combo, i didn't had any trouble going through it.
imma be real, i cleared jiren and never once entered training mode. not because i didnt want to, i just couldnt figure out how to do it. so i was literally just button mashing through most of these fights until i figured out what worked and what didnt. still only lost twice, both against frieza.

i really dont think its as hard as some people are making it. if i can do it without any training mode knowledge, then someone who does the training mode should be impossible to lose vs the AI.

and then it becomes even easier if you cheese them with super attacks, which have been an exploitable form of cheese in every dbz game.

Ima be real too, I highly, sincerely doubt it.

Play Jiren episode until you're up vs UI goku. If you can one try that, i'll suck your weener.

Speed burst is your friend for dodging attacks in this mode and powering up and hitting kamayamayas (i have no idea how to spell it but I think you get it) cheese fashion over and over can get the job done. Tutorial all day long as well. have fun, after a bit it gets a ton easier.

I roflstomped him. The fun fact is I was trying to get the What If route and beat him fast, but I couldn't unlock a new route. The reason ? I was already unlocking the What If route on the first tries, it's the normal route that needed to be unlocked.... I had to restrain me from stomping him too quick.

I was struggling pretty hard myself at first, but I took a short break for the muscle memory to kick in from the training mode (tutorial), then played against the CPU with different difficulties each time. After that, the fight wasn't all that hard.

Giant characters aren't supposed to be fought like normal sized characters from what I've heard. You can cheese Giant Ape Vegeta easy if you dodge his beam and blast him with a Kamehameha in the back as he takes a lot of damage from it. If you manage to beam clash, he pretty much melts to it. People are saying that Frieza and Ginyu Force were hard, but I found them relatively easy compared to Vegeta.
