I love fighting games, but never played an arena fighter
Is PvP pretty fun? Are their combos, deep tech, and fun things to learn? I don't take it so seriously, but I enjoy getting better and pvp is awesome. I will enjoy the singeplayer content too, but I'm just wondering if the pvp scene is big in games like this. Thanks :)

I think the hype and player base will be huge for a couple of months, but a lot of players will drop off pretty quickly after finishing the story content and trying out some custom battles. PvP is okay, but it's not extremely competitive like Tekken or other fighting games. You can't chain 100 combos and keep your opponent grounded (or mid air).

It's more 'casual,' so to speak, with scripted ultimates and destructible terrain. It looks nice, and the game does have some mechanics to learn and master, but as I said, nothing too crazy.

For me, it sometimes feels a bit clunky, and some key inputs don't always register properly. And occasionally, the opponent just transforms mid-combo, which feels weird and makes no sense.

Like with every fighting game, only the players who enjoy being challenged by the game will stick around once you unlocked everything...

these types of dragon ball generally are more about screwing around and having fun then a legitimate competitive experience. you won't find a whole lot of balance between characters so a lot of the player base will likely gravitate to playing with friends instead of match making.

Thank you all for the input here. I am excited about it being a more casual fighter. It doesn't seem like something I'll play forever, but glad I can have some fun with it without it feeling too high stakes. I appreciate it!
