I heavily suggest never using this counter. Losing 2 blast stock is horrible as no combo you do in this time will be worth it compared to what you could be doing with those blast stocks.
I realized that the reason I was struggling so much is that I was never able to use blast stocks because I kept countering everything instinctively, this was a bad habit that I had to break. Take the beat down, them go on the offensive.
Obviously the same rules don't apply to PVP, but we're not discusisng pvp here.
I don't think they're talking about a counter maneuver. I'm pretty sure they're talking about the thing where you can dash towards an opponent but if you press it again you will dash behind them Xenoverse style which takes a bar of ki.
