Controls changing! Anyone else have this?

So while i played with my fiance my controls were the way i set them and used the typical Left D-pad with Y or B, but once i enter certain online battles the controls for my abilities change to a different symbol, different keys and i can't even use them. anyone else?

Note, this only happens sometimes, so far only when i've joined other lobbies, not when i've hosted my own

Yes. It's happening when you're going against someone that's using Standard controls. It's a controls bug. Happened to me.

Yeah, i'm avoiding ranked like the plague so far so i can avoid being having my rank affected.

I did get used to the Standard control. I wish I can still practice the Classic controls, but it was pretty hard. lol.

They need to fix it because that makes it unplayable in ranked, it doesn’t just switch me to new controls. It makes all my super attacks the same exact input so I can’t choose

literally this, had to combo a broly to death as krillin because i couldn't do any of my specials. i hate the standard controls

Go into your options and set controller two to whatever control scheme you want to use. By default, it is standard, only the first one is swappable at the start. However, online is considered Controller 1/2. 1 being the host, 2 being the guest (Person who doesn't choose stage/music.)

This is only a valid answer to the issue on private lobbies. Public lobbies are glitched for classic players because of it--- it really bugs me honestly, it's my first major issue with the game lmfao

Yeah there needs to be a fix for it asap. It's very frustrating to have a coin flip on if my opponent is using classic controls or not. The inputs are also different every time (it can be super moves are on different buttons, or the same button). Ranked is almost unplayable because of it. Do we know if it's copying the other player's control scheme, or is it just random? The constant changing placement of abilities is what's confusing me.

same with me, my PS5 controller buttons have swithced everything with the D-Pad. THe D-Pad is now X, Circle, Square, and Triangle its bs

Can confirm on keyboard as well. Cant transform/ switch if im not host. not my stage / music etc

i firmly believe that instead of premade options and we could actually change controls this bug wouldn't exist
