Steam Deck Settings
I can confirm thatit plays perfectly on medium settings with default resolution. High caused it to lag on places but medium looks and plays fine on steam deck.

If you scale the resolution to 60 you can probably play on higher settings. I was able to on Ally X and get 55 to 60fps

I'm getting 45-62 fps in combat consistently.

Idk if they tried setting resolution scale to 60 it’s the lowest you can go without making the game look bad. That may help. It’s how I got my Ally X running it at higher fps

55ish to 60fps

My Settings for Ally X (25w turbo)
Borderless 1080p
Resolution scale 60
Anti aliasing medium
Shadows low
Textures high
Post proc high
Effects high
Depth of field low
LOD low
Grass low
Motion blur off
Camera shake high
Destruction effect high

Not sure what the issue is. Even when it's moving at 45 it's brief and it looks very fast and fluid. It's on the 50-62 range far more than 45. I say it's a pretty good and enjoyable performance.

My settings are:

Windows mode borderless
Resolution 1280x800
Resolution scaling 100
V-sync on
Anti-aliasing down to LOD Quality all medium.
Grass low
motion blur low
Camera shake high
Destruction effect high

Game dips to 40-50FPS with low settings and 60% resolution scaling, but the thing is that the game actually physically slows down below 60FPS because they're using an obscure setting in Unreal for a fixed framerate.

This isn't playable on the Deck, I'm sorry. Once they fix the game speed issue, maybe then you could cap the game at 40 or 50FPS and have it run decently.

The issue is that I will not touch fighting games below 60 even if briefly beyond 1% lows. We don't really need to debate this. If you don't have a problem with it, then feel free to keep enjoying it.

.

Dang I was hoping dropping your resolution scale could help the steam deck as well. I had to do that to get it to run well on my Ally X

This is where you're wrong. It's far from unplayable. If you care about ranked then you shouldn't be in a handheld to begin with. For non- ranked and single player is perfectly enjoyable and pretty smooth. To each their own. If you have to have it at 60 or nothing then handheld gaming isn't for you. For those of us who like using handhelds, or if it's all we got, then it is indeed very playable.

Literally playing it single-player against a CPU opponent and the slowdown is very apparent when it happens. It's not about a high framerate, it's about stable frametimes and keeping the game speed running as intended.

Try capping the framerate to 30 or 40FPS and then compare it to the game running at 60, it's running slower, like it's a 90's game that ties the speed to the framerate, that's the problem.

I know noticed the slow down you’re talking about. I was able to resolve it for myself but i am on Ally X.
