Online play doesn't work for Steam Deck / Linux!
For starters, you have to enable Proton Experimental for the game to even boot. Once you do that, the game starts up just fine and I was able to complete the tutorial against Vegeta and access the main menu. Everything seems fine with offline gameplay.

I immediately headed over to Player Match and when I spectate or engage in a match against an online player, I'm booted out of the match within 2 or 3 seconds of the match starting. I'm able to move around during those first few seconds, then it ejects me out with a prompt reading: "A communication error has occurred."

Please let me know if it ever starts working for you or if you find a fix!

I managed to play against a friend who also happens to run Linux, which means that network works but there's some small mistake or even a blacklist in there that prevents linux players from playing against people in other platforms

It doesn't have to be complicated for Bandai to fix, but I do hope they care enough

This is true, I've confirmed it myself. I made a Sparking Zero group for Linux/Deck players. Join this group to find matches!
