Will this be a fighting game were you have to learn combos
The biggest thing that puts me off from playing fighters is the weird joystick movements and intricate 50 string combo inputs that you have to memorize just to stand a chance. Will this game be the same as Fighter z in that regard?

This game is an arena fighter. Not a 2D fighter so no. No combo moves are in this
There are melee combos but all super/ultimate attacks have simple inputs to trigger.

Rather than moving the stick around like a madman, you simply need to remember how many times to press square, triangle, X and other directions, but it's not annoying like a 2d fighter, it all happens extremely naturally so you don't even notice it.

Also, unlike fighterz, there's a way to interrupt combos if you ♥♥♥♥ up.

Can't do it every 2 secs, but at the very least you will be able to fight back, ToD combos effectively can't possibly exist here due to the newly added mechanic that allows you to break an enemy combo using 2 units of the special move gauge or whatever it's name is.

No, the most complicated movements you have to learn from the Sparking/Raging Blast series is holding forward or backward when pushing a button.

movement and positioning will almost definitely be a much more important part of the game than combos, which will be easy to execute
