I do wonder how much less this game would have sold if they only focused on local multiplayer (with remote play) and single player content. Are we looking around 50% or less than 30%?
It's 2024, game would've sold done terribly especially on PC without online
Also again the cope is getting silly at this point. This game is more unbalanced and even more poorly designed than past BT games, the game sucks online because its not designed well. The problem wouldn't disappear simply removing ranked mode.
The bare-bones game-play based on cinematic looks over depth (like all Tenkaichi games) Would benefit from more casual modes though.
Going to have to take your word on the design point. This is the first kind of these games where I went through the entire tutorial and actually got decent at it. Playing the older titles and even the Tenkaichi 4 mod before this released I always felt like I was floundering and mashing buttons to no avail.
when they leave this game will be dead because its a clear 6/10 released with 15 hours of mediocre slideshows and a bad custom match maker for singleplayer content, bad local support, and a casual matchmaking system worse than its ranked mode.
the fact that a few fanboys willing to accept slop will remain won't sell future DLC
The ranked mode it's balanced around the meta, the same way that BT3 was. You just need to pick the meta characters, as in any BT game. This look more like people crying because they can pick his favorite character; well, sorry to tell you this, but that never was possible in other iterations of the game.
Btw, i also play a lot of FG's, and i see RQ in everyone and very often
I kind of feel this, but fighting games were always pretty competitive even before streaming and youtube. When I was a kid MK would become pretty competitive when playing with friends but it was in good fun, these days most people look up the best methods to be at the top of the leaderboard which speaking of, I remember a time when people laughed at leaderboards kind of like how people thought hiscores became a relic of arcade gaming. I just find it funny that so many people actually care about hiscores (leaderboard position in ranked) when you think about it.
Sry to burst your bubble
What will keep this game alive is the online bruh. How tf do you think Xenoverse and Fighterz are still alive after all this time?
Xenoverse and fighterz are indeed online games. But not every game has to be an online game or need to "kept alive" its just a game which was released. done. besides character DLCs this game will not recieve much support. Think about it like about Dragonball Z Kakarot.
there are ranked and player matches. if you dont like ranked in that game, play player matches. you have more options there. you can effectively bypass most of the issues talked about here when you play player matches.
Cool story bro *Boots up Sparking Zero*
