DP Battle imo is the intended way to play- But the devs/community killed it
I am someone who has been actively climbing in Sparking Zero. I possess a 100% Win rate in ranked, and am now A-Rank. DP Battle is my honest opinion, the intended way of playing the game from a PvP competitive aspect. However, after multitudes of matches, and even doing single battle up until B rank- I've found that by all the gods the community has TORCHED any semblance of enjoyment in these modes.
Even in player match, you will find the same typical stratagems revolving around the usual busted suspects. You can't PLAY in the A-Rank properly unless you give leeway to a degree, and use stronger characters.
I myself LOVE Kefla, Kale, Caulifla, Broly (Z), and Android 18 as characters (minus broly Z's backstory, however his attitude, personality, and quotes are just peak). However, if I want to stand a chance in higher brackets, I have to give way. I used to run Caulifla, Kale, and Android 18 or Goku Black or Broly(Z). Which is fine and all, but now I've had to move up to using Kefla, which is fine, but I want to use the fusion mechanic- Just one problem tho, its not even half worth fusing mid match. Anyways- This leads to me my titular point of running into the same teams with MAYBE some differences here and there, like having guldo instead of yajirobe (pre nerf) as one example. There's a roster of 180 characters, and yet pvp is a forced roster of like 20.
Now, in BT3, this wasn't nearly as problematic given that alot of the roster had their own gimmicks or things that made them nichely viable and the skill expression was definitely substantially higher. However in Sparking Zero (which btw is budokai tenkaichi 4, thats how it was advertised in the first place)- They've streamlined mechanics, made maps much bigger, and made skill expression much lower. This is seen greatly so in the characters that are top tier vs those that aren't. Whilst one CAN easily argue "Well its just for fun, and its all about that anime accuracy" and yada yada, things along those lines- Explain to me why dr.wheelo is top tier, or yajirobe (pre-nerf). Now this would be FINE, if the rest of the roster was treated equally.
Examples include:
> Cooler Final Form - WHY ARE BOTH HIS SKILLS BASICALLY USELESS
> Golden Freeza - Why does his initial super have the tracking of a walnut?
> Kefla - Why does each form have one useless skill? And why is her ult a pain to combo into? You can't even really 'combo' into it, you have to knockaway or knockdown, dash to the enemy, then press the big button for base and ssj2.
> Gogeta Z - Why are his two skills bout as useful as a screen door on a submarine? Exaggeration, but compare these two to super vegito, and you'll see my point

You may disagree with these examples but the general idea is just- If you're gonna make things unbalanced, why isn't that same idea spread across each character? They've also made it so transformation feels more like an obstacle rather than something cool to do mid match. Base forms only serve a use in dp battle to save on cost, but in singles why would you EVER use a base form? You can just say fun, but why not also make it fun AND interesting gameplay wise? Why doesn't transforming mid-match instead grant a buff to all your stats, like 3-5%. Small, but enough to warrant it.

This is a long post, but to wrap things up, I've found the devs negligence and the community's focus on hyper optimization has killed DP Battle as a mode. Playing with randoms, and trying to just have an all around good fight online has become this chore of praying you don't run into some guy using the latest B.S.
I wouldn't even be saying half this if ways to add incentives to use 'lower tier' characters wasn't as easy as adding a buff when transforming mid-match or hey, take a page from xenoverse! Maybe have it so being in such stressful high states of power makes your ki charge slower and consume more, but being in base makes these debuffs not there. So as a trade off for more health/power, you gotta give something.
It just genuinely comes across like Sparking Zero had way less thought and passion put into it vs budokai tenkaichi 3, like- Just its predecessors in general.

Oof lmao.

If you have 100% win rate you're definitely doing something sketchy.

100% winrate would indicate you are infallible and thus can't make mistakes. It's like saying you play perfectly 100% of the time and no one is better than you.

Which is ridiculous since there's always someone better than you out there. Doesn't matter if it's a video game, sports, or something like Chess. People will always question the legitimacy of a stat like that. At some point even the best players will mess up or just have a bad day causing a loss. Yet you haven't at all? Just a tad suspicious.

I am A rank atm, and I've yet to lose because I've yet to fight anybody to lose too... I feel like we're all aware of how MUI goku players for example arent that good and are bloated rank wise by character. Its not far fetched, and I have taken losses regular player match wise, just only a few. I can even have people vow for me as well. Even a z-ranker can testify to my skill being legitimate
