But I think things like the what if routes in the episode give quite some replay value until you've done them all.
The story mode was a waste of development time and funds, it was really boring and was just a slide show of pictures. They didn't even capture the feeling of goku going super saiyan for the first time. It was very anti climatic.
I would prefer they wasted more time on adding more combos and different attack patterns instead of adding in a bunch of identical characters to try to capture the whole dragon ball universe. It's sacrificing quality for quantity. And you see it through dialogue, story and gameplay.
In my honest opinion the game is a 7/10.
No i loved that game when i was a kid, this is 2024 and the game feels very stale because it's typical budokai, i was hoping for something more interesting as a long time fan. This game might be super engaging for people who never played the series, but to me it's pretty stale with just updated graphics. They should have focused on the combat making sure it's smooth and engaging. The attack pattern gets super old. Characters don't feel unique except for looks, because they are so limited in what they can do. They even did the same thing with voice lines being 1 dialogue per attack. Thats insane to me to charge over $70 for 1 voice line for everything in combat. Thats makes the game feel very outdated in a bad way. So the audio and combat is just a constant pattern loop.
The same pronunciation of kamehameha or any attack is annoying. People hit each other up int he air all the time and teleport. Not many moves you can do in the game. I'd rather the devs add more attacks and different attack patterns, we don't need an overly bloated dragon ball z trying to represent tons of characters people dont care about instead of representing combat/gameplay/story.
The story is so bad and lackluster because they are trying to make this the ultimate dbz making it very bare. It's as wide as an ocean but as shallow as 1 teardrop.
Games feels like it's worth $20-40.
Also the menu is the most obnoxious and annoying thing i've been forced to go through. Overly animated and repeated audio on the menu isn't good at all. Also trying to charge over $30 for music on release day was insane. They already are charging a foot and a leg and decided to cut out of music to sell on release day.
It's whatever now they got my money. And i'm already tired of this game because it's very shallow. The story was so bad they should have just never added it and focused purely on pvp and combat, maybe even adding in a 2v2 fighting mode. Instead we get a game that feels like it's gonna have a very low population especially after beast gohan is released in dlc.
Nice cope but there are still people playing fighting games released decades ago
