I just wated to play and now have to download the whole thing
when something is patching it needs to essentially copy files into all the already existing files, it was barely downloading anything. People told you this and you choose not to listen.
3 other people here had the same problem.
I know the difference between downloading & patching. If the damn thing says 29gb & 10 hours left; that's Downloading, NOT patching!
Anyway, if you read post #10; I fixed the issue. This is not the 1st time I've dealt with this from steam, and surely won't be the last!
2 weeks ago I made a backup copy of steam & sparking on a portable drive; to test on a separate PC. {Thankfully I didn't delete it!} I updated the game using that copy, then copied it to my main PC.
I remember using this same method years ago with another game that kept trying to re-download with every update.
It doesn’t need to patch 27 gigabytes for 20+ minutes every other day for a 40 MB update this is absurd and simply ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. They need to knock that ♥♥♥♥ off.
