Patch/Update re-downloads the whole game!

At 1st it kept trying to "patch it", but kept saying [Update Corrupted]! Now it's re-downloading the whole game!

It only downloaded the files it needed to, the reason it showed the whole game is because Steam probably ran it's "Verify Integrity" thing to make sure none of the files already downloaded were changed/deleted, so it can download them again if need be.

Did you ever have an error with Online Play and try to fix it? If so, whatever was changed by that is what could have caused it. Other than that though, I really don't know what could've caused it to corrupt the way you've described so far.

it was a 800 MB patch for me

91.7MB for me. I have had that happen to other games where there was a validation failure, so I'd say don't worry too much. Stuff happens.

So I tried my backup copy of steam + game, and it showed the 91mb update. But once I clicked Update, and waited, and waited... it changed to 1.46gb update. (-_-)

Well, atleast it's not the full 29gb anymore. ¯\_(-_-)_/¯

Same I’m having this problem, it patches the game for 15 minutes, then reinstalls the entire game as the download time says >1 year
