Why are bonus battles so poorly translated?
The dialogue in them is so janky, characters referring to each other by titles and race who wouldn't, and just generally really weird phrasing. It doesn't turn this into a bad game or anything, but I am a little disappointed such blatantly janky translation made it into a $70 dollar game, even if it is just a sidemode.

(Though I only played 3 of them, so maybe the rest are ok? I'll update if that's the case)

Those battles are made with the Custom Battle Editor, as a showcase of what you can do with it. The thing is, you can't actually type your own text, you have to choose from hundreds of pre-made sentences. When you see a green word, it's a word that can be switched with another term. So there's a term for "Saiyan" or "Monkey", but not "Ultra Instinct Goku".

Funny thing about Bonus Battles is the pacing and transitions are handled way better than the main story mode battles somehow.

Outside of the robotic dialogue, it feels way more like Tenkaichi 2 and 3's story battles. They don't just abruptly end or designed only for you to get your *** beat lol.
