DualSense vs Xbox controller? What should I get?
I'm thinking about buying a PS5 dualsense controller to play this game so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it? Does the rumble feature work with this game? What should I expect using the DualSense with steam games? Has the support improved over the years?

I considered the Xbox controller cause it's often said to be easier to use and its just plug and play but I loath the D pad layout on that thing. I prefer to use the D pad for nearly all my regular game movement unless it's a racing game or something and the D pad on the xbox has always been less than ergonomically friendly to me.

What should I do?

I would say get a mid tier Gamepad (Controller) not from a big brand. Read mulitple diffrent Reviews and decide.
I currently have a low tier 10 bucks Gamepad and it also works perfectly fine.
Its more of a question if you like symetric analog sticks (like a PS Controller) vs asymetrical( like XBox, total garbadge IMO, but everyone has different taste).

I use an 8BitDo Pro 2. It has the PS controller layout, but it's less expensive and higher-quality than first-party controllers. Never buy official first-party controllers if you can help it, they're way overpriced.

Dualsense Edge > ALL.

Don't get a $10 gamepad unless it's something that's on sale from a reputable company lol.

This controller is really well built but the input latency is too high for fighting games from my experience.

If you like having your controller wired yeah.

My recommendation would be the Big Big Won Blitz 2 TMR or the 8Bitdo ultimate 2c for this game specifically. For a good all rounder the Xbox series controller solely because of the godtier dpad and approx 2.5-5ms of latency with the xbox adapter is really hard to beat. Unless you get the aforementioned controllers.

You can compare pretty much all good gamepads youself as well on https://gamepadla.com/

I will say though for whatever reason the xbox controllers have a harder time hitting consistent super counters. I think this has to do with a discrepancy between the stick and button input latencies.
