Vegeta Great Ape fight

There seems to be issues with the Great Ape Fight with Vegeta. Some people are having issues and others aren't, but there is at least 2 Great Ape Fights that I know of. One of them is called "Transformation" and the other is called "Great Ape Extermination!"

Transformation
This fight is unlocked by working with Piccolo then defeating Raditz. You only play as Goku

Transformation is significantly harder. You fight Vegeta and Great Ape Vegeta all in the same fight. There is no break in between. You die then you start from the beginning. In this fight even if you get Vegeta's health to zero he will still fight you until he goes his Great Ape form. The AI in this one is harder and reads your inputs, especially Great Ape. You block, they grab. You special, they block then super you back when you are recovering. You hit, they'll armor hit you. They teleport your attacks constantly too. (I had to cheese this fight to win and it took me roughly 15-20+ tries).



Great Ape Extermination
This fight is unlocked by NOT working with Piccolo then wearing down Raditz. You have a team that you can use (Piccolo and Tien)

The Great Ape Extermination fight is significantly easier. There is a pause/check point pretty much between when you fight Vegeta and Great Ape Vegeta. (You fight Vegeta in the previous battle) The fight is stupid easy and I beat it on my second try without effort. The AI is too easy. I easily beat this fight without switching to any other character. I just used the tactics I learned from the "Transformation" fight and destroyed him no diff.



That's where the confusion on this fight begins. Most people that are probably complaining are doing the "Transformation" fight and not the "Great Ape Extermination" fight. Great Ape Extermination is pretty much a brain dead fight. I had to cheese and work hard just to beat Transformation.

Transformation fight tips:
Do a 3-4 hit combo then shoot one ki blast at Vegeta. Rise and repeat. He with either block or do the ki wave to knock you away. If he blocks continue what you were doing. You can delay the ki blast for a split second to have him unblock. If he knocks you away just ki blast slowly to get within range then continue the combo. If he combos you then just do your best to get out of it. Do this until he goes into Great Ape (I believe it's time gated). Your goal here is to maintain as much health as possible for the second portion of the fight. Don't worry if you get combo'd

Great Ape Portion
Once in Great Ape he will try to repeatedly grab you or armor (hard) smash you. If his ki is below 3 bars he'll charge up every time after a brief pause of trying to hit you. While he is ki charging you should be ki charging as well. When finished he will always use one of his super blasts to hit you. Just side dash it a few times with A/X (Xbox/PS5). Once side dashed you have to immediately hit him with kamehameha immediately because his recovery from supers is too quick. If you don't have enough just charge up as much as you can then rinse and repeat. If you are able to get into sparking then do that. You'll be able to stun him with your normal attacks then ultimate him or super depending. Once finished Ki Charge and repeat until dead

easier way to do it but pretty repetitive, dragon dash away, charge up, use kamehameha and repeat. works on reduced/ normal difficulty

This probably is, but I don't know how to do most moves.. so my tactic worked for me. Lmao. I'll keep this in mind if something similar happens

try super training, helped lots since the normal tutorial is just fly up fly down punch etc
