Custom Scenes Character Forms?

I'm making a custom scene for the first time. Since you can't add variants of the same character in each form, there doesn't seem to be any way to have characters transformed in the scenes? Is there something I'm missing or is this a feature the system is genuinely lacking? Really disappointing if so

Fantastic workabout, though I do feel like choosing the characters outfit and form in a scene should have come prepacked.

On that note, do you have any idea how to keep battle damage after a scene is triggered? Say, getting hit by an ultimate battle damages you, triggers a scene of the character powering up, but then when it goes back into the fight your clothes are repaired. Can battle damage be kept?
