As someone stated, you can edit the settings but you can’t play online if you do.
Then look for the setting that mentions FPS and just change it to the value you want.
Without pak mods: You can modify the engine.ini in text editor. With that you can unlock the fps. What other refering to as "breaking the game" is that if you can't maintain the target fps the game will slow down, like a slow-mo movie. But that only happens if your machine is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the target fps.
Let's say you have a 120hz screen, you set the FPS for 120 cap, but your machine can only do 110 and often dips to the 80's. Then your game will slow down cause you can't maintain the 120fps. In this case you have to cap it at 80fps. Then because you can maintain the 80fps you game will not slow down.
Pak mods: There is a mods on Nexusmods where you can uncap the fps without slowdown despite your machine being too weak for stable fps: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonballsparkingzero/mods/10
Online: You can't do online with FPS mods cause you have to sync with other players, but you can def uncap it for offline without a problem.

this is ameme that only sounds plausible but is total BS, the game works literally the same at 160 as 60 its only multiplayer that causes DCs for some reason
