Time outs are ruining ranked for me
Love the game but losing or winning in time outs feels so bad i tend to close the game after in frustration, i understand we cant have infinite time but why cant we have the max 600 second that is an option in custom?
Losing games i feel i can win or clutch but having it end because of time really sucks and it happens so often when both players run 4-5 characters.
This is my first fighting game since bt3, is this the norm?

Of course it's the norm... Players could infinitely stall otherwise. You rarely ever need more than 360 seconds in DP battles, if you do then someone is almost surely intentionally stalling the round.

The reason there is a time limit is because if 2 players with the same skill are playing characters with health recovery the fight may not end, so the time limit helps prevent this

ofc there needs to be a timer but i see no reason for it not being the longer one they have available, and its not rare at all for dp battles to end in time out from my experience but maybe the dp meta is just a lot of stall then

It's part of fighting games
the stall meta sucks, add something like FighterZ forced snap outs

anyone who tries to disgree with this needs to explain why yajirobe playing cowardly and winning via time is somehow more fun than actually hitting and blasting your opponent

"but you can just rush yajirobe down" if that was effective people would actually be playing normal characters rather than all afterimage and healing cheap characters

Mr. Satan should not legitimately be one of the most useful characters just for helping you win via time out, that's lame

yeah i don't want infinite time, i just think 6 minutes feels like to little when your opponent can bring 5 characters and there is so many ways to negate and avoid damage

The only lame thing is that 99% people play UI Goku, Gogeta, Vegito or Jiren and those people doesn't even understand which of their opponents play for fun and picking a suicide character to let them win by using suicide ultimate.
Stalling those people would not be possible if they knew how to play the game and knew different characters moves instead of just the tryhard ones.

land a generic grab ("Dragon Rush") and if you press one of the tag out buttons you could force that character out when the grab actually throws them away

for this game i think i'd just have to swap to the next character in the select order since i imagine you'd just press Charge or the d-pad tag button during a grab animation to do it

Yeah that sounds kinda cool, could defiantly be some counter play too people running cheaper characters in the back

This is the most unfun game to play. I’m using 3 players and for 5 games in a row I’m playing people using 4 characters with afterimage and just staying alive long enough to win the match due to timeout. 5 games in a row over due to timeout!
